Hey kids ...

I was at WDW and Universal Oct. 20-26, and on the last few days at the parks I noticed something interesting at the Tower of Terror gift shop. Now, mind you, this was my first time EVER riding Tower as last time I was at WDW was in August of 1993.

Just wanted to know if this new Tower shirt is new? It was displayed right as you walk in from the photo section at the end of the ride. Is this a new shirt?

I saw some shirts with that design (the characters dressed as the ghosts), although I can't recall if I saw that white one (was in WDW 10/6-10/13). I think it's a cute idea. At least one WDW attraction still has some themed merchandise.

I also saw some merchandise in the ToT shop, though, that featured the "mirror" trick from the DCA version of ToT. Didn't make sense to me to sell ToT merch that features an effect only found on the opposite coast, but whatever.

:zipit::zipit:Martin, I know, but we just wish we could hear your side of the story, or at least the ending once.:zipit::zipit:

No, that shirt isn't very new. The gift shop seems to swap out what shirts are being sold.

Personally, I hate the shirts they come up with for Tower of Terror. Such an amazing ride... such tacky t-shirts. You almost can't buy any without Disney characters on them, which is irritating since they have absolutely nothing to do with the ride.

That's what I love about them. I wish the characters were more prevalent in the attraction specific merchandise sold in the parks.

I've noticed this as well. Everything in the store is cluttered with graphics and characters or tie dye. Why no simply designed shirt with the logo and a catchphrase on the back.

But why? It doesn't make sense to feature them on t-shirts for attractions they aren't even in.

I wouldn't mind it if there was more merch without them, but its annoying when its almost all they offer.

If I'm not mistaken they have had shirts with just TOT on them. And lets not forget that if there were no mouse there would be no TOT. I love the shirts with the characters on them. I was soo po'ed when I was unable to get back to MGM to pick one up when I was there back in September.

P.S. Dont do Disney during a heat wave while ur 7.5 months preggo.

^ There are a few, but even the shirts without the characters are incredibly tacky. Except for a few of the newer girl's shirts, which I can't wear, since... I'm not a girl.

Tourist t-shirts are almost always tacky anyway... but they don't have to be.

I got a shirt in January of this year. I really like these ones with the characters..It makes a statement to what park it was from. On the front left corner it has Mickey, Goofy & Donald's back facing you as they drop from the elevator..On the back is the same image however there is a Mirror with their expressions as they make there decent.

Those shirts are from DCA's Tower. No offense, but I hated them... I never understood why they were selling them at WDW. They finally got rid of them.

You don't have to have the characters on there for people to know what park its at. All it needs to say is "Disney-MGM Studios" or "Walt Disney World and they'll know. The way they have the characters on all of their merchandise is actually a "turn off" to a lot of people, so to speak. People who aren't huge Disney fans and have never been to WDW assume they are going to be bombarded with the characters nonstop, and we all know thats not true.

Personally, I think fans of ToT (of which I am one) have little reason to complain. When I was there in August, there were at least 5 different men's ToT shirts along with a good deal of other merchandise.

Head over to Space Mountain, where you'll find exactly zero ride specific merchandise in the gift store SM unloads into. I take that back, there was a pin and a post card.
