Screamscape has reported that the Tower of Terror will receive its random drop sequence this fall...and more...no word on what the "more" is...probably something similar to the changes we so when Fear Every Drop was added.

the "and more" could just be another title change...after all..it is already "The Tower of EVEN MORE Terror"....but thats cool..lets hope screamscape is right for a change...

Here's what they wrote:
Fall 2002 - New Twilight Zone Drop Sequence - Rumor - (3/15/02) We’ve recieved a rumor that each side of the ToT is scheduled to go down briefly this fall for a full rehab. It seems that the drop sequence may not be the only thing that will be changed when this new version opens.

they aren't going to change the story...it's too good to do that! The most they would do is something like last time (where they made the elevators shake in the drop shaft, changed the audio a bit, and changed the second stop where the elevator goes forward...no story change.

Am I the only one who has noticed that the On-Ride photo is taken at a different point now? It used to be right when you got to the top of the shaft, now it's right at the beginning of a drop...the looks on people's faces is 10 times better now!

No, I noticed this too. They intentionally did it to get better facial expressions.

I was wondering if it would work to take out the lap bars and put in seatbelts for everybody. Would that take away from the ride? you wouldn't be able to float it seems, but you also wouldn't have a bar to hold onto. I have seen people wrap around those lap bars, trying to hold on. LOL

...when I'm in the seat, the lap bar CAN'T be lowered fully cuz of my belly....my wife and daughter float about freely without a lapbar pinning them to the seat...and they LOVE it.

...the floating is one of the best things about the ride and gives you the sense of reality of an elevator freefalling. Seatbelts would diminish the sensation in my humble opinion.

First off..

I think they take your picture TWICE...and then choose the best one...if you notice there is more than one point where it flashes...

Second...

The lap bar rocks!! and uh..even with a seatbelt..you would float...ask to sit in the middle seat of the back row if you dont believe me ;)

They used to take your picture early in the ride and then use that picture on the giant eyeball later on....now they just show a generic one......sad

It is still called MGM studios, Disney will most likley never change it at this point.

They dont OWN MGM, but they do licence a lot of its movies and other media, thus why they can have the Twilight Zone.. ;)

Hmm, I thought Twilight Zone was from CBS. Ohh well, there isn't much point arguing over this stuff that's been argued over before.

For those saying lapbelts would ruin the experience, u obviously havent sat in the "jump seat" (the back middle seat with only seatbelt....Not only is the ride better (u have the best view), but the drops effects are felt doubled, maybe even tripled. If u dont believe me, try it.....U must ask to sit there (CM's dont sit u there unless u ask), and during the drop, lift your feat up, and keep your hands in the air.....u feel the "airtime" much more than with the lap bars

There is something better than the seatbelt seat! If you're in a row with a "person of exceptional size", or they simply don't push the lap bar very far down, then you get more air time than you do in the seatbelt seat.

They would probably never replace all the lap bars with seatbelts, because that would be a huge hastle added to the loading procedure. Each passenger would have to get in, adjust the seatbelt, have problems clicking it together, then the CM would have to use a flashlight to check every single person. Not to mention, the problem that so many people would unfasten their seatbelt during the ride..

Viacom is the parent company of both MGM and CBS.

Indy and Dinosaur are both quick loading... It could be done...

They could have a locking mechanism like Indy and Dinosaur....

I do like the lap bars also lol...
