Hi there, i'm brand new to the boards!

I recently got engaged at the Magic Kingdom after the Wishes Fireworks. It was absolutely wonderful and we are now planning a Disney Wedding!! Being a huge Disney fan, this is something i have always dreamed of!

Any experiences anyone has had, or advice on how to get started on planning any of the Disney wedding options would be most appreciated.

Also i was reading about weddings in the Magic Kingdom.... Now, does anyone know an actual cost for this because i've read on one site it costing from $28,000 then read on another site it costing from $500,000......quite a big difference! Anyone have any idea or actually had a Magic Kingdom ceremony?

Many Thanks x

I think someone said in another thread that there were price calculators on the wedding website...and Welcome to the boards, and congrats on the engagement! :)

Welcome & congratulations!!

Disney wedding prices vary based on so many factors. You can decide to have an "Escape" wedding which is just for a handful of guests. Or you can have a "Wishes" wedding which is much larger. You can get married at various places like at the Grand Floridian, in front of Cinderella Castle, etc. Things like how many rooms you'll need to book (they do require you to book so many rooms), transportation you'll need, etc, will all play a role. You should call the Disney Wedding team, and go over your individual needs. There really probably have been people who had a $28,000 wedding, and a $500,000 wedding at Disney!

We opted for doing a Disney themed wedding at home, due to being so far from Florida, and hearing from so many guests that they wouldn't come. Disney Weddings still helped me plan it here, for the most part. They did my invitations, programs, cake design, table signs, engagement pictures, photoboard, save the dates, and a few other things. I have a photo album if you'd like to look in my profile for some ideas! You'll find lots of brides who did their weddings in WDW who will be able to give you more advice on that! Have fun planning! :sohappy:

Congrats on the engagement. Ever hear the expression if you need to ask, you can't afford it? Well, weddings IN the parks tend to follow that rule. If I remember correctly, the cheaper intimate weddings take place at the resorts at secluded areas, and you need a middle of the road package to get the wedding pavilion. Even just trying to have pictures in the park isn't easy. They only do it in the morning, before the park opens at like 5 or 6 I believe. So IF you were to have a wedding in the park, it would be the same type of situation. They would need to close the park early (mucho dinero). You might be able to have it at one of the function rooms say in Epcot during park hours, but I would imagine you may need tickets for all of your guests. We looked into the options when planning ours, but they have fairly strict minimums and requirements that really limit budgeted planning. But if you want to get married at Disney, I'm sure you can make it happen. I have heard of guerrilla weddings, where people brought their own priest into the park, along with their friends, and had a quick ceremony, and then moved on before any CM got suspicious.
