New Tinkerbell Test at MK. Fly's UP to the castle!

I've heard rumors of having Tink do different moves for the fireworks for Disneyland's 50th. I wonder if they are testing the effects at MK while DL's catle is being refurbed. Maybe they will have the new Tink at both parks. It will be a little sad if Tink is no longer a human, but it will be neat to some new effects.

The "non-human Tink".
Think something from the Spectromagic parade.... only slightly more tacky looking and a tad bit to small scale.

The major problem with portraying Tink as a light or some other non-human figure is that people wouldn't know what they were seeing. People recognize tinkerbell as a classic Disney figure, and they wouldn't recognize some other figure.

This is why I think this other figure is just for testing.

P. S. Overall I don't like the entire tinkerbell effect. I do like the effect itself, but I don't think it's worth having that ugly black cable hanging from the castle. They could at least paint it a brighter color. (or give Tink a jetpack)

I think the wire should be lowered for hiding during the day, then raised at night. But that's just me.

I think that if there is propper narration and sound effects, they can pull this off very well.

What's the point of her flying up back to the castle? That would be just kind of weird...I agree with that they could raise and lower the wire at night somehow. We'll see what happens.

This could in no way, shape, or form happen without some disruption to the park guests. So, with that, it will never happen.

Yet they raise and lower a huge bridge to get the Illuminations barges out, right? I'm just thinking of giving it a lot of slack, hiding it under a folding piece of pavement, and then raise it latter.

Persumably with an AA Tink they can fly in more weather rather than cancelling the flight with a storm in the vicinity?

The Tink at Paris flys up to the castle - it was really strange the first time i saw it, being accustomed to Fantasy in the Sky. I may be wrong, but I think in the past year or so DLP`s human Tink was replaced by an AA?

Ok, the question that i have....with some AA's not working at times on diff. rides throughout the parks...what happens when the TINK AA decides to not work, and it looks just like a stiff body moving up the wire?...b/c we all know that electronics do mess up at times...well thats the only real worry i have about this AA Tink idea. :)

I wouldnt really call the Tink an AA, certainly nothing like the complexity of any of the attraction based AAs. It's really more like a large sized doll.

One could thing about this doll, is that it can be taken off after it's flight and be properly maintained. This may actually turn out to be a really good thing.

Yep, a jet pack is definitely the way to go.

I've always been confused as to if jet packs really existed or not. I remember back during the groundbreaking of PNC Park in Pittsburgh some guy took home plate out of Three Rivers Stadium and supposedly used a jet pack to fly it out of the stadium and over to where the construction site was. They never actually showed the guy in flight on TV, so I didn't know if it was true or not. And I remember hearing stories of Sorcery in the Sky or some fireworks show at the Studios where a guy came out and flew around with a jet pack during the Rocketeer segment.
