New Thor, Lone Ranger & Phineas and Ferb Release Dates

Walt Disney Pictures has dated three of its upcoming titles today.

With the delayed start, Gore Verbinski's The Lone Ranger will now hit theaters on May 31, 2013, a date it has to itself at the moment. Previously scheduled for a December 21, 2012 release, the adaptation will now start filming on February 6, 2012. Johnny Depp, Armie Hammer, Ruth Wilson, Dwight Yoakam, Helena Bonham Carter, James Badge Dale and Barry Pepper star.

Next up, the studio has set the big screen version of Phineas and Ferb for a release on July 26, 2013. The movie is based on the popular Disney Channel animated series.

The July 26 date was previously occupied by Thor 2, which Disney (owners of Marvel Studios) has now shifted back to a November 15, 2013 release. The sequel currently has that date to itself as well.

As I've said to my friends over the last year, I am NOT looking forward to a live action Phineas and Ferb movie at all. I have a feeling this is going to be The Last Airbender all over again....Why would they take something full of creativity and imagination and just rip it apart? Why not just make a full length animated film? I know they've already done one but still, do they really think people are going to see this? On top of all that what really kills me is the show has been on the air for 3 seasons and Disney is just NOW marketing it. I can already see the plot now, Phineas and Ferb are going to build some invention and "OH NO! They've ended up in our world...how CRAZY", Why not just cast Jim Carrey as Doofenshmirtz and be done with it. But hey, I guess this is the new trend in Hollywood "Let's take something that people love and wipe our rear ends with it".:brick:

I look forward to the Lone Ranger...but..P n H could just turn out kinda like the Dennis the Menance movies...________..hope not. I have yet to see Thor...bad me..so I cannot say much on this. Thanks for the update Jon!
