News New Theater to be built at the Magic Kingdom - now cancelled?

From where it appears to be going, it's about as close to that as you are going to get.. the "access" will be between Tony's and the hat shop, dumping you right by the gate.

Wasn't it said at D23 they had something else in mind besides Frozen? I like the historians at the sing-along in DHS but they could easily upgrade to a full production in the Hyperion. Not on the level at DCA of course but no reason we still have the sing-along, although I'll be told by some it doesn't need fixing, why not aim higher?

Possibly small shops as you suggest or kiosks or even a new back entrance to the Main St shops. Last thing it would seem to be logical that the side street between Uptown Jewelers and Crystal Arts would open up allowing direct passage to the by-pass area

I don't know what kind of shop it would be, most likely merch for what ever show is at the theater, but I would never underestimate Disney's desire to stick a gift shop anywhere and everywhere that they possible can

It's not clear at this point where will be the access roads (or entry/exit for the theater). I wouldn't be surprised if they open up both the alleyway in the middle of Main Street and the road next to Tony's and have one be an entrance and the other an exit. Or they could also use the bypass access between Tomorrowland and Main Street near the hub.

My top picks for shows here are probably the underrated Princess and The Frog, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and Hercules. Those three have almost an instant Broadway feel to them. Yes, they would have to be tweaked and changed heavily, but the music for those 3 are out of this world, and that's what makes a great show. What do you guys think?
If those don't happen Mary Poppins or Tangled have proven to be awesome! I won't complain if Aladdin comes as well.

I love theaters, so I am super pumped for this. But at the same time, the venue itself has a high bar to hit!:D

They should put 3 entrances/exits. All those 3 should be used.

Is this going to be a Broadway theatre were you pay separately? Or the size of area/building as Fantasmic and included in ticket price?

It wasn't said at D23, but someone here mentioned that it would not be Frozen.

No I know MansionButler84 said that they had something else in mind other than Frozen but I could have sworn I read a summary of the D23 thing or that an executive said we are thinking of something else. Guess I'm dreaming that one up LOL
