Once again mharrington, the princesses will probably be out of Adventureland in a month and in Exposition Hall or Town Square Theater or whatever you want to call it. Hold on, wait a second! WHAT DO YOU PRINCESSES HAVE TO DO WITH MAIN STREET USA!!! Or what do Mickey and Minnie have to do with Main Street!!! What do Mickey and Minnie have to do with Future World or Hollywood Studios?!?!?! There are so many things you could nitpick to death, I mean why is there a castle on the end of Main Street? I don't think there was a castle on Main Street where Walt lived so why is there one now?!?! I could go all day, but really no need to get your panties in a wad.

So does proper theme not mean a thing to Disney anymore? I mean, you got Mickey and Minnie in Tomorrowland, where they don't really fit. And you got the princesses in Adventureland, where they DEFINITELY don't fit. What's next? Putting Woody in Tomorrowland and Buzz Lightyear in Frontierland?

It's about space. Right now, there is no other place for those characters to go. Once new Fantasyland opens, the Princesses have their new home, and once the Exposition Hall is finished, Mickey and Minnie will as well.

Until them I think I can deal with these new arrangements.

Are you OK with Splash Mountain being in Frontierland, since, well, Song of the SOUTH has nothing to do with the wild west???

That's different. To their credit, they did try to conform Splash Mountain to Frontierland. It says so in Jason Surrell's book on the Disney mountains.

How is it different??? Splash Mountain's story does not fit into Frontierland... At all... The mountain maybe, but what the mountain houses absolutely does not... There is no revision of history Jason Surrell or any Imagineer, or Walt Disney himself, can do to make 1800's GEORGIA fit 1800's to early 1900's WILD WEST...

mharrington, why are you so upset over all this? Sure Toontown closed but supposingly we'll be getting something better. I'm also sure that the Exposition Hall meet-n-greet will be waaaay better then what some of us may be thinking at the moment. Just look at how long the place has been under tarps and renovations. Things change and to go along with those changes, we need to understand that sometimes, temporary situations may need to occur until something is completed. I honestly don't mind the mice being on Main Street. I've seen Pluto and Daisy Duck out there on our last trip. Seriously, how did you manage a visit to WDW before Birthdayland was even built? Where was Mickey and the gang "living" during that time?

Seriously, you need to relax. You're making such a big deal over something that's not even worth worrying about. In the end, we'll be getting better results than what we had before.

Yes,he is we saw mickey at the frontierland station and then in tommorrowland not 10 min. Later. I'm pretty sure he was out that time in both places. I too like the spontainity of it.

Once again (ahem) since there is only one Mickey Mouse he can not possibly be out in both places at the same time, so he obviously has a way of traveling faster than you can.

I've worked with the princesses, and believe me, it is an adventure!

I appreciate the Disney magic as much as the next person, but I think on this forum we can do away with the pretense and discuss this without "Disney speak."

First of all, I was about three years old when Birthdayland opened, so I was too young to know much. Second of all, the only pictures I saw of the Expo Hall under construction was an outside tarp and a wall off to the side and a single wall inside. That doesn't clue in much. And third of all, I really have high expectations now about how they look. I really hope not to be disappointed here.

The reason I'm making a big deal out of this is... well, I'm just so nostalgic. I guess I'm just the only fogey here in the crowd, that Mickey deserves more than just a meet-n-greet. That's just me, though.

But seriously, I could have picked out someplace else "temporary" that could've housed Mickey and Minnie better. Like, say, the Fantasyland Skyway station. Hey, it's not being used for anything right now, except for probably stroller parking, which is at the base of the stairs. Might as well use it for something, right?

I think the problem with the skyway station is that that particular area is SO congested to begin with. With PPF and SW and the billions of strollers....add in Mickey and a giant queue and I would think you would get crowd control nightmares. I have no memory of being in the skyway station, but I'm assuming you can't take strollers up there? You'd have to have stroller parking for that as well....

It's temporary. I kind of like the idea of the characters being spread back throughout the park and not hidden away in the tents. I'm also kind of excited to get to go into the adventureland veranda since I've never been in there...

I think all the character placement for the time being is OK. We already had Ariel in Adventureland, and many of the Princesses stories originated in Europe to begin with..

What I don't like the Fairies being moved to Epcot. Seems out of place unless they were put near The Land Pavilion since they deal with the seasons and nature. Either way, I'm not looking forward to trying to take a side trip to Epcot to see if Vidia is out. I already wasted 45 minutes on my last trip :p

Probably, but hey, it is only "temporary", is it not?

The complaints about continuity in attraction location appear far more when the attraction is subpar. Splash Mountain and Soarin' aren't in the best locations but because they're popular attractions the complaints are less frequent than say Stitch's Great Escape or Monster's Inc Laugh Floor.

I thought you might want to read this.

Which is why I never take those complaints very seriously. Gripes about theming are always conveniently correlated with attractions people happen to hate already.

Can someone please help orient me to where the Fairy and Princess M&G used to be? I visited TTF on several occasions (including last Nov) but never saw any of these characters. :veryconfu

I was wondering about this too. I know the fairies had a Pixie Hollow area somewhere in MK that just closed (not sure where, but I think it was close to TTF), but I don't know why the princesses need to be shuffled around right now.

The Princesses and Fairies all use to be in TTF in the Judge's Tent. Now that TTF is closed they have to come up with new locations for these characters.
