Thanks for the response. I already read through the guide, I feel like it doesn't really provide a whole lot of info.

Well, I don't think watching the start would be much fun, but that's just me. The only other way to see you is at the finish or right before the finish at WWoS for the 10K and half. Once they take the event bus to WWoS there are tons of volunteers that will be happy to help. There will probably be a stage with a DJ.

Be sure and look at the finish area map and agree on a meeting spot. There are usually signs or balloons with letters on them but I don't see that on the map.

If you have more questions post them. We have a lot of runDisney experience here, good and bad. :)

Hello everyone,

This will be my first runDisney event and I was wondering if anyone could give some advice for a first time runner. I can pretty much figure things out for myself, but I haven't been able to find much information for my family that will be wanting to attend the races and see me on course.

I am running all 3 events and have no clue what to tell my family about where to go, how to get there, etc. I know I will be taking a bus to get to the events, but my wife will have our 4 month old daughter with her and I'm not sure if it would be easier for her to drive from our resort to the events or take a bus.

I don't really even know where they should go and whats available for them as far as viewing locations. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the running boards. Any chance you are staying at Yacht, Beach, Swan, Dolphin, or Boardwalk resorts? If so the 10k and half will go by those resorts,so they can walk down to the edge of the course and see you there. Then just have them take the race bus to the finish line.

Given that you won't necessarily be starting at the official start time, since you will start based upon your corral assignment and you can wait for up to 1 hour to be walked to the start line (depending on the race), I agree with others, have them meet you at the finish line. Or as @Mad Stitch mentioned, have them watch you run through the course as it goes by your resort and then take the resort bus to WWoS to see you at the finish line.

Right now the weather is beautiful here in Florida. Let's hope it stays that way until after the race.

Thanks! Im wondering when I will know which corrals I will be starting from. I guess when I check in at the Health and Fitness Expo. Kinda disappointing that there aren't any spectator viewing areas along the course.

Your bib number will be on the waver which will be released in the next week or two. At the same time they typically release a chart showing the range of bib numbers in each coral.

OK, cool. Thanks for the info! Im wondering how many people here are running...

Plus, when you turn in your waiver form at the expo and pick up your bib, the corral assignment is printed on the bib in the top corner. Corrals are alphabetical. If you didn't provide proof of time by the deadline, you will be in one if the last corrals.

Where are you staying? I'm doing the 5K and we are staying at Swan. My most amusing DH thinks he will have my heathens (6 and 7 years old) up and dressed and walk over to International Gateway to see me run around the (old) tram turnaround which is outside of the park. (This looks like "thumb" on the 5K course map picture, approx mile 2.) I'm guesstimating I'll be in that area 25-30 minutes after I start? Aside from that outside-of-the-parks location, I think the finish line(s) are probably your best bet. Good luck!!

I suppose weather like today's would be too much to wish for. I'm in South Florida and while its a bit windy, its seriously beautiful out.

I'm up in North Florida and it's cool. Right now it's 54 degrees and a bit windy. Prefect weather, quite frankly, since we Floridians know what's coming in a few months, lol.

Staying at Art of Animation. We will have our 4 month old daughter with us dressed as Darth Vader with a pink tutu and headband, lol. I just want to see her in the outfit while I'm running. I will be running all of the events (5k, 10k, and 1/2), so hopefully we can figure something out for all of them. This is my first event. I was going to run the Wine and Dine last year but found out I would have a very pregnant wife so my first event got pushed back till my daughters first trip.

Sorry, we have never done the half or challenge so it was never listed for us.

For the half and the challenge, once you get your bib number off from the waiver form there is another link to see what corral you are in. The corral letter is based on that number.
