I feel sorry for those CM's during the summer months. Those jacket and pants look extremely hot. A friend of mine is a Soarin' CM and he said the walk from cast services to the attraction was horrific and he said it wasnt even that hot.

He should have taken the bus then. He didn't have to walk.

I know, but as ex rangers, we walked EVERYWHERE. This way you get to interact with guests on your way. I prefered walking while I worked in Epcot, no matter where it was.

Wow, that looks amazing. The queue looks like a nice width. I think the worst queue was ToT before it has fastpass. That was wide! I cant wait to ride soarin, and the wait in line may be fun the first time.

Is it true this ride is only 4.5 minutes long? I belive that's what it said in the Unofficial Guide. Seems like it should be longer than that.

Test Track and Mission Space aren't much longer than that. In their cases, they essentially constitute the entire pavilion whereas Soarin' does not. . .

I timed it at pretty much exactly 5 minutes. That's from when they say you're clear for takeoff to the time you stop moving.

Well that's too bad. It sounds like such an awesome ride, I was hoping it would be 10-15 minutes. I mean does it feel like as soon as you get on you get right off? Or is the length of it good?

I guess the good part about it being a short ride is that the line will move right along, right?

Yes, like so:

Thanks for the diagram, I had an idea of how it worked, but since I haven't been on the ride yet I wasn't absolutely sure.

I think it's just about right. 5 minutes is actually pretty good for a simulator (or any modern ride, when you think about it). I'd like it to be maybe a little longer, but as you said, it keeps the line moving.

The ride time is pretty much as long as it can be given the type of ride it is. A 5 minute "simulated" experience is pretty good and its pretty good for any type of modern day ride. The only rides that are longer are the traditional, classic dark rides. TOT is about 4-5 min., MS is a little over 4 minutes, TT is 4-5 minutes, Dinosaur is just under 4 minutes, etc. With Soarin' ride system, a ride any longer than 5 min would create unbearable waits. They've already built a huge show building to house two of these large theaters to help increase capacity. If the ride were any longer, they would need to increase capacity, and that would mean an even larger show building with an additional theatre. Its takes up a pretty decent size plot of land as it is.

I guess I was comparing it to Star Tours, which is 10 minutes if I'm not mistaken. That's why the 5 minutes seemed really short.

Nope, they're all under 4, unless you count the time sitting in the vehicle before it actually starts. People are always surprised to hear that, but it's true.

I haven't timed Star Tours, but I'd say it's definitely less than 5 minutes.
