That's obviously the worst, but the views around Slinky are pretty bad for the vast majority of the ride -- at least for somewhere that's supposed to be about themed entertainment. You're mostly seeing the ground or some trees/bushes, plus that long backstage view.
Not really… other than the last launch and seeing into SWL it looks fine

It feels as though the Coaster was intended to be scenery for the Land, and the Land was intended to be scenery for the Coaster, and somehow neither team got the memo that they should both be delivering on that front for their own sake.

The Eisner era Disney would have at least painted that side as a Doll House or something.

Toy Story Land is such a DCA situation.
There are few concepts with more creative potential for a Theme Park than "A Land of Toys" . . . Between that and the fact that Toy Story has made Disney a veritable mint, this should be one of the most fun areas Disney has ever built.

They should have swung for the fences and instead barely bunted.

Well said. As were the past two attempts at the same property. As it stands, Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin in its best condition is still ironically the most fun for me and seemingly many others, and it is because it at least follows some of the classic dark ride principles that were there from the previous attractions in that building.

What's worse is that we now have 4 Toy Story Lands and newer ones don't really improve that much over the originals beyond the coaster being a better ride than the Slinky flat ride.

Well.... You're the size of a toy in a backyard.
You say that like building a bright, fun, dense, rich environment is not an option for that.

Think any guest hearing about a Toy Story Land goes "YES! I can't wait to explore the vast expanse of dirt and weeds in Andy's Backyard that has some toys scattered about"? Or do they expect to be surrounded on all sides by exciting playthings on a massive scale?

If the theme is "toys in the backyard", the obvious move is to play up the toys part, not the backyard.

Not to mention that it never feels like you’re toy-size because the scale is so wildly inconsistent and just generally off. The Honey I Shrunk play area, no great shakes itself, was much better at creating a sense of scale.

Well, even if TSL didn’t work out, at least we got that big third land that was integral to the much delayed, much needed MGM redesign. You know, the one they rearranged the parking lot for.

Absolutely - It was "incomplete" by nature of the Movie Set-theme, but what was fully built was rich and impressive.

AND fun. Imagine that:
