Thx for giving me hope that I won’t have to wait forever to see some improvements over in Dinoland, although I must admit the post was mostly tongue in cheek & because I liked the phrase ‘banished to the bahamas,’ but...I’m easily amused.

Real talk guys, think about this from a perspective of BALANCE.
DAK just got Pandora in 2017. That wasn't yesterday but if we follow the trend that they no longer want to release things to far in advance, we may very well still get something 'soon enough'
DAK got Pandora in 2017, and then DHS got its stuff, now EPCOT and MK need TLC. After we get well into these is when we'll probably something for DAK.
Since EPCOT and DHS has needed more work than DAK and MK it's fair for them to take priority right now. They want to bring those two up to standard. So when we do get something, I'll assume that it's going to be corrective in some way - unlikely something new or standalone but more likely a redo or expansion of an existing area.

Genie ought to help redistribute those crowds, but the park still needs more to bring it up to snuff, and this is coming from a person who loves AK. I know Pandora will push plans back a bit, but Disney ought to be beefing things up not just for the 50th, but in anticipation of Universal's 3rd gate.

It baffles me that Disney seemingly hasn’t been looking at possible dark rides for Jungle Book or Lion King for this park yet.

Who knows what prospects get thrown on the table at any given time. I know we have our trusty insiders that know some stuff, but I'm sure that there's all kinds of crap tossed around for what to do with the parks. The problem with Disney is their execution of doing something once they put it to paper and approve it. Spreading projects over multiple spend years is smart for smaller companies, but I don't get why a company of this magnitude would keep doing it. They know they'll get ROI on it (because they'll ride it the profits on something for 30 years before updating it!), so it really doesn't make sense (to me)...

It seems like JB dark ride rumors have been wafting through these forums for the better part of a decade. I was never sure if they were based on real plans and discussions or just armchairing.

Well they probably have. And who knows, they still might be. Africa is a great land but another ride would be nice addition and if we're go with an IP, there's no better than the Lion King (obviously a realistic or possibly surrealistic telling).
Though I don't think this is the ride that's been talked about or planned.

It'd be nice if we could have two rides and a show/other attraction in every land. Africa could use another one and I won't dignify anything from C&H with the title "ride."
They dont all need to be E-tickets, either. A couple D's (heh) that were clearly committed to quality would be welcome.

Just from a balanced design perspective, yes there could be two rides per land at least, thrilling and passive.
Africa has an A+ passive E-ticket so it needs a thrill ride. And so on. Dinorama has rides but they aren't attractions at all, there isn't anything attractive about them - they're actually repulsive.
I'll stand by my statement as say that the ride which comes will probably be an E to Dinoland in place of Dinorama, because just like Minnie Mickey it was destined to be temporary anyway. It's only a matter of time for Dinorama goes the way of... well, the dinos.

If we look at attractions rather than just rides, then I think most of the lands in AK are pretty well balanced:
Africa: Kilimanjaro, Festival, Gorilla Falls
Asia: Everest, Kali, UP, Maharajah
Dinoland: Dinosaur, C&H, Nemo (I'd love to see C&H replaced, but it does add some balance to the land)
When looked at this way, it is actually Pandora that needs more. There are just two rides and not much to do besides the rides. I'll admit that the land itself is beautifully themed, but the land would be fuller with another attraction.
