New restaurants at Disney Springs look pretty good!

I'm still bummed that they did not open a Joe's Crab Shack!

I can't tell if you're kidding.

That said, these two places look promising. Although the Asian place seems more like a P.F. Changs on steroids, but maybe it will be better than that.

The Boathouse has me most intrigued. Let's hope the steaks and sides are very good, like a Capital Grille. But how much do you all think the Amphicar rides will cost? That's a very low capacity offering, and I'm betting it's going to be at least a $50 upcharge for a short ride. Maybe $89? More?

The sad thing is that if the Amphicar ride is $100 or under, I'm doing it! Once. I'll take pictures.

Keep in mind with the four seasons now in Disney you will need more places for the higher end clients to dine.

Yeah, I can't imagine the hours these places will be open will add that much to the overall percentage of available ADRs and not likely these guests of Four Seasons will always be dining in high end restaurants anymore than those staying in Disney Deluxe Resorts do. I love our Gibsons, it is a slow pace, relaxing, fine meal. I hoping there will be some new restaurants added to Springs in the Moderate price range without having to endure T-Rex type atmosphere.

Wow! Be sure to take those photos and share them with me as well, because I am not going to pay that much to ride a car in the water! ;) If it is less than $35, then maybe.

As fun as it sounds I could not justify that price in my own mind. $100 Wow! Equal to a days admission to the parks. Ouch.

These prices look reasonable I've paid a lot more in Chicagoland for similar items

And that is why I qualified my post with what demographic Disney is aiming at for Disney Springs Restaurants. I'm not sure 'reasonable' is the word I would use to describe the menu prices though.

Certainly there are guests willing to drop that kind of money for a meal at dinner. I know our bill at Gibsons is usually around $400+ in Chicago. But in Chicago I am not already spending the amount of money I am in WDW to have too many meals in this price range however the $13 burger and $7.50 french fries more guests might do. I couldn't go to Gibsons and order a burger, their steak is that amazing. I'm trying to wrap my brain around the overall atmosphere of Gibson's in Springs, Disney shopping bags wedged in, tired cranky adults and kids.

Not even CLOSE - Moritomo is fine dining where they have real chef's and each restaurant has different signature items. You will NOT get a pu-pu platter there, I expect some of the DDP crowd will be trashing the 'nasty' food as soon as it opens.

P.F. Chang is a upscale chain where the menu is pretty much set by corporate and while very high quality it is STILL a chain restarant - Sort of like when Olive Garden was a GOOD place to eat and things were made fresh onsite not like today when its all frozen stuff re-heated.

I should have qualified my statement. I am assuming these will be authentic, restored circa 1964 Amphicars you can ride in. And the drivers should be able to chat with you about their ancestry, production and drivetrains.

If these are fakes, then the deal is off. If these aren't real 1960's Amphicars and are newly made Chinese clones, and especially if the drivers are just dorky college kids working for beer money who don't know a thing about the vehicles, then I won't pay more than 5 bucks for a ride. Nor will I be impressed. :)

I'm betting on the clones, why would you risk a classic car worth 100K

Hmm... I hadn't thought of it like that.

You're probably right. The Amphicars will likely be fakes. Oh, well. Maybe the food will be okay?

I think there will be a few REAL Amphicars on display and probably they will do demos of the real ones, On 'Fast and Loud' there was a guy who bought one from the Grease Monkeys for 'A display for a resort in Orlando FL', But I can't imagine the real ones being in regular service.

I imagine you might get a ride in one as a 'Premium Experience' for a couple hundred bucks like the Lambo's at the Speedway.

But real or not it would be a fun experience and something to look forward to. The food promises to be awesome with pricetags to match :) but I'm happy to pay for a premium dining experience, I'm NOT happy to pay a premium price for Golden Corral food.

The official website says "Guided Amphicar Tours" ...so basically you won't get to drive.

What is wrong with them being "fake"? Its not like they are going to just throw a plastic car body over one of the old sea racers they used to rent. These are going to be identical copies, they will drive on land and in the water.

Thats a pretty nice car right? Well that, and more than likely every other one you have ever seen that looks like it is a fake. They are all kit cars, because a real one goes for 7 digits. But they pass quite well and some replicas are worth 90-100K. Just because it isn't the real thing will not mean its bad quality.

If anything it will be better because they can eliminate problems that they may have had by building an all new version. They can put materials on it that will be easier to maintain, they will be more efficient, they will be easier to operate. From what I understand ampicars didn't really like to turn in the water, maneuverability is a pretty important thing for safety reasons.

Although I could see them being real cars if this was an exclusive, incredibly expensive tour to do. They'd probably need a lot of them to do this, I bet 10 plus. At 40K per car that is some serious dough

I had assumed real or reproduction that you would not get to drive these, After seeing them at a car show or two - the system is a bit 'Unique' to say the least. Same deal with the Exotic cars you get a nice ridealong in a car people only dream about and neighbor owned a Ferrari down the block from me.

I'm assuming a mix of real and reproduction Amphicars, You are correct that the reproductions probably willl be BETTER mechanically than the originals less prone to leaks etc while still looking EXACTLY like the originals. I'm guessing that there will be a few originals to try - but as a premium experience and priced accordingly.

Isn't it his son's restaurant now? Jerome, I believe. I know Monsieur Paul is Jerome's.
Jerome manages the restaurant(s), but it is still a partnership. Les Chefs de France is a restaurant created by three of France's best chefs Paul Bocuse, the late Gaston LeNotre, and Roger Verge. Jerome Bocuse, the son of Paul Bocuse, runs the restaurant, and his father still visits from time to time.
In a similar fashion, it is likely that Morimoto will turn the daily operation of this restaurant over to an executive Chef and he (Morimoto) will visit from time to time.
