I was just reading about the new changes in Priority seating....

New rules starting on August 4th. If you have a package booked with Disney Travel Company with a PAID deposit, then you can make a PS for MOST locations 180 days in advance. If not, then you can make your PS 90 days out. This is a HUGE change. It now means that AP reservations, FL resident reservations, Cast reservations, AAA reservations or room only booking in Central Reservations can only make PS after WDTC guests have made theirs. There will no longer be a 120/60 days out policy. It's now a 180/90 days out policy depending on what kind of reservation you have booked. Disney will now have a two tiered dining schedule it would seem. Where you fall in the tiers depends on how much money you spend (ie. book a package)

So the bottom line is, the REALLY good reservations may very well be snapped up before you even have a chance to call.... We are getting APs this year and it looks like it will screw us up if we are trying to book the harder to get reservations.. Does this include the illuminations cruise too??

Has Disney forsaken the AP holders? the DVC? Is this really as bad as it sounds??

well I did a brief quote so all would know what I was talking about, but you cap'd the word MOST in the above paragraph. Perhaps, Disney is keeping the highly popular ressies open for all? If you are really worried about it you could always call to see exactly what locations are changing. The only place we have ever had a hard time getting was breakfast at the castle, although we don't tend to do alot of upscale dining at disney, more all of the fun places w/the kids, but if this changes all of the character meals, well this could be an issue for us as well, because we are also going w/aps this next trip!

Hi Melora!
There is a thread already started on this one. Don't want to correct you, just thought you might be interested in what others have said.
Not to mention I'm very interested in how this plays out and don't want to keep up with two threads!

Can someone direct me to the other thread please :D
I am only responding to what I have read written elsewhere in regard on how this is going to affect life with PS. We don't do PS any other time except the morning of in general.... We figure out which restaurant we want to eat at then call that AM and have never had a problem... We did want to do the cruise so I need to find out if this is going to impact that....
