Well this could be the last series of Power Rangers (Jungle Fury). Rumors going around is that Disney are no longer interested in buying the characters (Super Sentai) from Toei in Japan anymore, and the cost of filming the "extra" footage they use in the English version is now becoming too high for the amount of profit the series makes.

As of yet, they have not bought the next series of Super Sentai (Go-Onger), and that instead of using the Japanese based series, they would make a Animated Power Rangers series.

As ever you never know whats going to happen, and I'm not sure what effect this will have on the parks, but its slightly related.

IMO if they make a US exclusive animated series, i think the park presence would become stronger, as Disney then no longer have to pay royalties to Toei etc.

I didn't even know the power rangers were still around until I saw them at the studios one day

Anyone remember when the Ninja Turtles used to make the rounds at MGM in the Van? That was awesome

Yup! Plus, I remember waiting in line 45 minutes to meet Michelangelo! I was so happy when I started seeing them pop-up again these past couple of years.

In regards to the Power Rangers - I work at the Disney Store, and our store doesn't seem to do that much business for them. Kids know all the different series, but parents just won't purchase them (they call them "too violent"). IMHO, although I never got into any of the Power Rangers, they always appeared like human forms of the TMNT (which parents don't seem to have a problem with). :veryconfu

to answer the question. no the original power rangers do not make apperances, they came out before Disney owned the rights to them.

Disney owns the rights to the original powers rangers though, and has run some of the "classic" shows on the disney channel and Jetix, therefore it's not unreasonable to think the classic characters *could* make an appearance (but most likely wouldn't if they were keeping current with the series)

to say that my son is excited about this would be an understatement!!!

i showed him this thread, and he was ready to leave for florida immediately! lol

he LOVES the rangers, and this last september, the Pink Power Ranger made his fifth birthday dreams come true! ha ha he had on a shirt that said Marry Me Pink Power Ranger, and she took him by the hand when she got off of the "Ranger-Mobile", let him "escort" her to her autograph/picture spot, and signed his autograph book with "YES".

so, i am going to be the father in law to the Pink Power Ranger....pretty cool, huh?
