Again, I don’t know what the complaining is about. The tower fits in just fine and people are getting another deluxe resort to eat, drink and sleep. It will also have very nice amenities. For those who are manufacturing outrage from their mom’s basement it is currently the grey tower above the wedding pavilion or if you do not know where that is, to the extreme right. Yeah it’s a real eyesore! I can’t even imagine how it will look from MK which is twice as far as the picture taken from the GF BPK balcony. It will even be more horrific to the two Polynesian row houses that actually face towards the new tower. My god the horror.

The whole area around the Poly was an eyesore when it opened... there was just grass and a few bushes.

I am not sure I understand the point but yes all of Disney World was an eyesore too before Walt decided to build on it, the area was a swamp.

Not my point, it literally took decades for the landscaping to grow to the point where it complemented and softened the appearance of the resort after it opened. The space around the buildings literally was flat and sandy grass. Across the street was a wall of pine trees.

If there was no mention of the Poly..and the pictures did not show any buildings next to it I would have said that’s a nice Sheraton hotel. Where is that,Texas? Phoenix? That’s just horrible. Gone are the days of seemless theming and in are the days of just slap it up and don’t think of anything else.

Aulani Tower without any of the Polynesian architectural fluorishes... just modern... but look there is a wood product used here and there...so it fits! lol
It would not have been difficult to have actually designed the building to architecturally match the existing resort.
"Can't we just get a regular motel with no thematic design and pay astronomical prices?" said no one ever....
The design and atmosphere has always been the point of these resorts and the "Disney Difference"...

The problem is, the Poly does not look like Aulani. They aren't in any way similar. Aulani looks fine on its own, because everything was built to match.

Good architecture and design would have had it blending into it's environment...especially into this established and beloved resort...surely they thought of that... And I wonder what the argument was for absolutely not matching the existing resort?

I personally will wait until it's done before commenting on what I don't know. Things can look ugly during construction.

They’ve been fairly spot on for the last few hotel projects because they’re the “blueprints”.

Everyone said that when the Riviera concept art was released..."No it won't actually look like that, this is just an image for a placeholder...it will be much more themed"...lol turns out it was much less themed... I don't expect the Poly Villas building will look more Polynesian than the art... which did not look Polynesian at all... so wait until it is built to judge...we kind of know already what it is going to look like...but will be less than what is shown in the concept art...following their recent building concepts...
