Is there anyone good with doing side by sides with the concept art and what is built so far?
I think these are matching areas for reference. Someone can slap me if I'm way off.

This is true. I was going by my own monorail ride. The scale is still pretty off IMHO. But that pic does exaggerate it.
I wish they would have built it in the current parking lot with a breezeway/garden sorta thing connecting it to the GCH. Make the lobby in the new building. That could be the hub area and wouldn’t make the resort feel so lopsided. I guess similar to how Gran Destino was built. But what do I know 😂

I just wish the styling on the new DVC building was going to match the existing resort instead of a standard modern Marriott style building... They dressed it up with a lot of landscaping on the building that will never happen because of maintenance leaving it just looking like an Aloft or other modern corporate hotel. Landscape can do wonders for seating a building, but if the building doesn't at least have some strong nods to the rest of the resort it is going to stick out like a sore thumb... I know we can all wait and see how it turns out, but we have seen the concept art....and while that is nice for a new hotel in Miami or Honolulu, it certainly doesn't fit the style and vernacular of the resort.

Thank goodness. Was really surprised they allowed the former path to exist. Seemed like an accident waiting to happen.
I'm actually kind of surprised there are signs and asphalt. Pleasantly surprised. No more getting lost!

Same! But quite glad they did this. I watched a near collision because a car wasn't slowing down for another car that was waiting for people in a cross walk. It was very unsafe before and glad this is more official. Might make me rethink where we stay next year.

Has it reached its peak height? How much taller then the GF DVC is it? I really wish they had build this in the current parking lot and connected it to the GCH. This just feels so lopsided on the resort.
???

This actually makes the resort much more symmetrical. There are currently 6 longhouses and a pool East of the GCH with 3 longhouses and no pool West of the GCH. If your instinct is that the resort should be balanced with the GCH at the center and equal "wings" on both sides, this helps.

I just wish they had actually designed it to match the rest of the resort...Nods to the existing architecture, matching roofline etc. at least the Grand Floridian DVC looks similar to the hotel... This is a whole different and modern style that will never match the style and feel of the existing resort.
