Disney fanboys: "Each new addition to the monorail hotels need their own station."

Monorail onboard announcements: "You are now leaving the Magic Kingdom, next stop is Disney's Contemporary Resort. Next stop is Disney's Ticket & Transportation Center. Next stop is Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Next stop is Disney's Polynesian Resort Vacation Tower. Next stop is Disney's Grand Floridian Vacation Club Villas. Next Stop is Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. Next stop is Disney's Magic Kingdom." (PS: Contemporary Resort tower does not get a stop due to the location of the tower to the monorail line.)

Disney fanboys: "The resort monorail takes forever to make a loop. There are too many stops."
No no no. “Next stop: room 9551! Next stop: room 9553! We will loop around for 9552 in 10 minutes!”

LOL, in a previous post I was called a Disney Hater, now I am a Fanboy, LOL, LOL

The reality is I am a Disney consumer. Too much of a consumer.

LOL, like I said, excuses, excuses.

JK - this is all in fun.

We all must remember, Disney will do what Disney will do no matter what the haters or the fanboys say.

If the hater or fanboy agrees with Disney latest move, whatever it is, its pure coincidence.

I never approve of a filthy monorail beam. Unacceptable. They should use the power washers liberated by the World Celebration lighting fiasco.

Ahh, I thought you were talking about having the beam so close to the hotel which made no sense.

It’s like some of the people on this thread who have been complaining about the Polynesian pool lights when that’s what they use at many Disney pools and have been using them for countless number of years. It’s just funny that they have never complained about them. Ever.

And yes, I agree that the beans should be cleaned as they need it very badly.

why cant they attach some kind of cleaning component to the monorails so the beams dont get dirty to begin with? There's got to be some kind of scrub brush/cloth cleaning system that "wipes" down the beam on the monorail

Evoking “modern” hotels located somewhere else was never the point of the theming in Disney World resorts. Just as in the parks, the point is to create something realer-then-real, the distilled and exaggerated essence of an imaginary wilderness lodge or gilded-age Floridian hotel or the like. If people want something that looks like a present-day Hawaii hotel, they can go to Hawaii. The Polynesian should be the tiki aesthetic taken to an extreme, not a subdued beige void.

They have a special rig that rides the beams and cleans them, they do it every couple years

The resort monorail won't be fun as the trip between DVC and common wealth regular will be one snooze start and stop!

Could have fooled me. The last time I saw them really clean those beams was just before the 50th in 2020/2021. That having been said, they could at least give the beams a good power wash before opening, especially since you drive under them to check in.

That building is so atrociously ugly it will always look unfinished. Another architectural FAIL. Who designs these things? Add it to the list of Destino, Riviera and Lakeside doesn't look too promising either.

EDIT: They are a big partner of Disney. But, most of these are directed by Disney itself and outsourced. Gensler actually has some pretty cool projects. Very modern and somewhat minimalist in design, but striking nonetheless. (They aren't that great at Chicago School-style IMHO. Their buildings tend to stand out more than reference their neighbors.) I think this is a matter of what the client wants.
