Earlier @wdwmagic made reference to MK being at "Phase A" and referring to new nomenclature with phased closings. This came out of nowhere.... It seems that phase A matches up with phase 1, closed to 1D1P.

So anyone want to share what this new nomenclature means?

Edit: heard from Steve, he's on it.

From a MK source.
"As of 10:20am, Magic Kingdom Park is currently at a Phase A status. We are currently not admitting Guests with Magic Kingdom One-Day tickets.

In addition we are not admitting Guests who have FastPass+ reservations for Magic Kingdom unless they have one of the following admissions.

Phase A status includes admission for the following:

  • Guests with Park Hopper tickets re-entering or crossing over from another WDW Theme Park
  • Guests with Memory Maker
  • Guests with dining reservations
  • Magic Kingdom Guests with reservations for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, Harmony Barber Shop or The Pirates League (if applicable)."
(*Guests from The Four Seasons Resort, Swan, Dolphin or Shades of Green are considered part of this group in this instance. In addition, Guests from Hotel Plaza Boulevard hotels arriving by bus are included (Best Western Lake Buena Vista Resort Hotel, The Buena Vista Palace, DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel, B Resort, Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Resort, Hilton.) Okay. So what's phase 2,3,4 etc., now equate to?

From the "Be glad you are not at the MK department". Wait times at 11:25 include SmallW 60, Thunder 95, Buzz 80, Jungle 85, Frozen 195, MM 90, Pan 120, Seven D 120,Space 120, Speedway 50.
I don't have to be glad. You couldn't get me to MK on Christmas day (or New Years Eve) at gun point. Some things just aren't fun at all. I'll go in mid-January or the first 3/4's of February. All the rest of the time, I'll stay home and read Disney Boards.

Disney World on Christmas Day isn't that bad, MK on Christmas Day is! We've always found HS and AK to be nice on Christmas Day.

True depending on your definition of nice. Still not tolerable to me though. At 1:45 MK is holding about the same as I listed previously with a few more joining the crowd. Belle 60, Dumbo 75, Mansion 40, Cindy 80, Carpets 45, Pooh 50, and Mermaid 70. Pirates is down again. The other parks are "better". Epcot has Mission orange 95, Soarin' 115, TT 110, and Fig 30. Studios R and R 105, Tower 50, Toy 75. Animal has Dino 60, Everest 55, and Safari 60.

The 3pm update for MK:

200 – Anna&Elsa
150 – Mine Train
120 – Peter Pan
90-100 – BTMR, Jungle Cruise, Space
60-70 – Buzz, Dumbo, Mansion, Barnstormer, Speedway, Mermaid, Cindy&Rapunzel, Ariel,
40-55 – IASW, Astro, Magic Carpets
30 or less – Enchanted Tales, Tea Party, Tink, Splash, Stitch, Carrousel,
Down – Pirates and Pooh

Not really that bad all things considered.

With the exception of Pan, those numbers seem more like busy day during the summer than busiest day of the year. But then fastpass+ has changed everything. I feel bad for people who purchased a one day ticket and made fastpasses 60 days ago though, and are being turned away. That would tick me off.

If they made their selections 60 days ago then they are resort guests and are therefore not being turned away.

Its 30days for everybody EXECPT Disney Resort guests, then its 60days. And only 7 days if you are a CM.

So since MK is at a "phased A" still and that basically means no more day tickets being sold, are they going to go back to "normal status" or will they completely stop selling anymore day tickets for today and keep it at an A status?

Well on my way to epcot, the signs saying "mk full" were still operating. People's tickets were checked before getting on the monorail. That was about 320
