New phased Closing Nomenclature?

Do you have anything on what the new phase system is?
No one seems to know. Today is the first time anyone's heard it called "Phase A" so as far I know it's just a new name. Might know more about it if further phases come up today (or NYE more likely).

Free parking and quick service at the other parks? Is this new?
They've done the free parking for years, normaly with a discounted food coupon. The free food part may be new.

5:45pm update from MK:

30 or less – Splash, IASW, Belle, Tea Party, Carrousel, Stitch, Barnstormer
40 – Mermaid, Tink, Pooh
50-65 – Peter Pan, Dumbo, PIRATES (it’s open!), Astro, Mansion, Ariel, Speedway
100 – Jungle Cruise, Space, Cindy&Rapunzel,
130 – BTMR, Anna&Elsa
Down – Buzz, Mine Train (might be back up now?)

I think these are some pretty reasonable times for now but I expect it could pick up after people finish their evening meals.

Okay at 11:20 MK went into Phase A.

The information is about the same as yesterday but they are allowing the 1D1P-MK tickets to be used at another park AND allowing them to return to MK when/if the phase closure ends.

Also they are handing out the free parking/dining coupons durring the closure.

Having done more than my fair share of Christmas->New Year's week visits when I was young... With each following year setting new attendance levels... You couldn't pay me to go at this time ever again. And that was 30+ years ago! I see nothing's really changed.

It always boggles my mind. You have to think that at least half of these people show up thinking they have some bright idea that no one will be there at that time, that everyone will be home with family for the holidays.

My theory could hold though. Let me tell you the level of stupid rises exponentially during the holidays, having worked the parks during those times. Because anyone with any notion of common sense would not be caught dead at the parks this time of year.

You'd be surprised how many friends I have who ask if Disney World is open for Christmas and New Years.

No, I got given a couple for that back in Christmas 2012.

Ironically, I think it I had better understood the type of closings they had, then we would have gotten in.
At the time I assumed that 'Park Closed' meant no new admissions at all until it was lifted.
