New Park Maps and Old Chairs

I always thought that the "Donald Chair" was in the library.

There are two. One in the library and one that just came back to the endless hallway area.:wave:

~The original chair that was removed from the endless hallway on Haunted Mansion has returned. For those who may not remember, it's a big red chair that has a (Donald Duck like) face on it. It was removed for rehab almost a year ago, and it's finally back!

Thanks Patrick. How much rehab work goes into a chair though? No one sits on it and it just sits quietly against the wall looking dark and dusty anyway. Oh well, at least it's back. :wave:

Stitch was on the cover as recently as February this year. I'd hardly call five months "quite a while now". :animwink:

Agreed Stitch was on recent covers.....I've been a dozen times since March and I have made a mental note about Stitch being a 'presence' on the map. My kids love grabbing maps on the way in.

It is a new chair. Prop dept is not the fastest service. Considering pirates and eveything else that pushes it back, a chair is never a big concern anyway. The old chair was impossible to save beacause you have disgusting people who just like to vandalize things for the fun of it. Many people with a range of ages would spit on it from their doombuggies at to the chair and other close range props...sad but true. It was beyond salvaging. It is really sad. A classic piece of attraction, gone. I am just happy the prop dept and Disney in general cared enough to bring a replica back of it.:sohappy: :sohappy:

Does anyone know how long that the Magic Kingdom maps will feature Jack Sparrow? I'm going in very late July and I would like to say 20 years from now that I have a Jack Sparrow Magic Kingdom map! It's a collectors item!!!!

No, they weren't destroyed. They were both removed and the fabric and parts of the wood were replaced. I know the guys that took it out, worked on it, and the maintenance guys that put them back in.

One is stationary in the endless hallway and the other has a rocker mechanism attached in the library.

Sorry well even if that is true, then basicly..it was destroyed besides the main frame. The point is. It is unfortunate that people feel the need to vandalize things.

Just a very small update...

~Jack Sparrow is now on the front of the MK Park maps. It's brown in color and has Jack in front of the castle, with Pirate ships at the bottom. The attraction description has also been changed to match the Pirates upgrade. There is also a brown box near the bottom of the maps saying "Dead Men Tell New Tales".

Speaking of rehabs on chairs... I think that the chairs and props in ToTs library need to be rehabbed. The chairs aren't made to support weight and guests sit in them despite the books and other things in them. I think that Disney will probably end up taking them out all together...

Ps... Someone stole a lightbulb from the library the other day and they had to watch guests a lot more carefully at load and unload... How weird can guests get these days?
