Here's my idea for what they should do for a 5th park... RetroLand... And rebuild all the great attractions that have been taken out of other parks... The Original Journey into Imagination, Kitchen Kaberet, Horizens, World of Motion, 20,000 Leagues under the Sea, Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, Mission to Mars, If you Had Wings, ect! :ROFLOL:

Actually.... thats not a bad idea... haha

I'm sure 99.9% of the people on wdwmagic (including me) would attend the park at least once during a trip for a "trip down memory lane."

I have one addition... i know its still open seasonally but I would love to see the Wonders of Life pavillion added to that list.

You know it's funny that you should say that. My fiance had a similar idea. *yells to any CM who happens to be reading this ;) * He thought that they should make a Virtual section that allowed you to put in a cetain date... say 1988... when you were there last ect, and be able to see the park like you could then... and then you could ride the rides virtually that you could then... guess it would take a lot of effort, but it would sure be cool

Wow, that is a damn good idea!!! Im even willing to donate a few bucks for WDW to start construction :)

But seriously... that is great idea and I also would be one to jump in line if they were to do something of that nature. Hell I will fight everyone on this board to be the first to ride 20,000 Leagues :D

I has a similar idea that I posted back in December on the thread below and no one seemed to like it, but I don't care about that I was just posting my opinion. I think RetroLand would be a cool idea. :D

I love this idea, but there's a huge flaw in it: The rides that would supposedly be featured here closed originally for a reason. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea for example had horrendous maintenance issues (among [many] other things), Mission to Mars was really dated (and besides, we have Mission: Space now), etc. Don't get me wrong, I love the idea, I just don't see it working.

(However, I would love to see Timekeeper, Mr. Toad, Imagination, and If You Had Wings again. :king: )

Also, I think 20K Under the Sea wasn't hanicapped-accessible.

I know it would have limited appeal, but I would love a retro-ride DVD, one that would incorporate as much footage from each extinct attraction that exists, combined with testimonials from both regular guests, famous guests and WDW fans who wouldn't mind being intereviewed about an attraction ala VH1's "I love the..." series, and Imagineers who were involved in the design and construction of the attractions. Plus, any footage of opening day ceremonies. Considering how many long-gone attractions still have a nostalgic value, even if you just have strong feelings for ONE of those old attractions, you'd probably be tempted to buy it. And we ALL seem to have at least one of those attractions we dearly miss. An "official" Vault Disney kinda disc with as much cleaned up footage as possible would be sweet (and might I add, a helluva lot cheaper than building a 5th park of defunct rides. )

good idea................... but like some other people said, the rides were shut down for a reason[I never really saw any of the old rides]. But you know what walt disney would say? he would say" that was a good imagonation at work.":animwink: :animwink:

Any issues they had back then with rides I am sure could be easily remedied in this day and age. As well as some small modifications could be done to make 20K handicap accessible. I think this comes down to the old saying "One mans trash is another mans treasure". I think all of us would probably be amazed at the crowds of both young and old that would enjoy extinct rides... the old would enjoy it for the memories and the young would just enjoy it because its something new to them and could very well be their future favorite past ride.

I know that it will never happen and from a monetary standpoint it just wouldn't work. However - I like the idea and would definitely go to "Retro Land".

The idea of rebuilding the rides in a virtual reality type setting would be neat as well. Of course it would take money and a lot of time to develop but you never know. Besides there is nothing wrong with a little dreaming!

If Disneyland can have Nemo's Submarine Voyage, and Disney Tokyo (or wherever) can have 20,000 Leagues, I don't see why we can't again ...

I love the idea of RetroLand.

It's a good idea, but probably will never work out. It needs to be themed correctly and with all the attraction variations it's going to be very difficult to blend in with the surrounding atmosphere. Also, I don't like the name RetroLand.

If Disney were going to pull this off they would obviously call it something more unique, as all of their park names are. Disneyland is an exception because it was the first Disney park.

I like the idea, but I'm not sure how well it could be a possibility. I also think it's going to be a little while for a new park to arise, with Disney's expansion ideas. Seeing a new park would, in my opinion, take a long time, especially with the Western Beltway property plans. But, I could be wrong.

The biggest problem with this idea is that the only people attracted to it at all are the hardcore disney fanatics, which is maybe 2% of the people that attend the parks
