So the lights can definitely do some cool stuff and I understand why people love them -- I wish they'd occasionally turn them off and use the old lighting, though. There was something about the way it looked with the old lighting that was magical in a way this isn't for me; some of what they're doing with this reminds of me a giant screen at a football stadium.

Again, I'm not saying I think this is bad. I think it looks great in some photos. I just wish we could have both.

There was something about the way it looked with the old lighting that was magical in a way this isn't for me; this looks more like a big LED globe.

I feel like a fairly similar effect should be achievable by only using the side lights and switching off the main beacon, yeah? I do feel like it should have a nice, subtle resting state, even if it pulses back and forth a bit with the beacons being on.

The old lighting did briefly return around 10:30.

They need new monorails, not LED lights underneath the trains.

Still not a fan of making LED lighting the focus of SSE after dark, but what do I know.
Seriously. I don't want to ride WDW's monorails anymore, lest I get stuck on the next major breakdown.

Even exiting and entering the stations feels like it takes exponentially longer than it used to. So much clunky braking.

But the lighting after dark is cool now, so yay!
