From Screamscape:

Park News - (9/15/04) Screamscape has heard a rumor that Disney may be working on a new Tapestry of Nations style parade for the World Showcase area. One rumor at this point is that they may make a float themed to each nation represented in World Showcase. If true, the earliest we would see this may be in 2006, though Epcot will turn 25 in 2007.

Now, I know what you're going to say....it's Screamscape....but I really think that Disney will (or would) be smart enough to get a parade up at Epcot by the 25th anniversary. Every park should have a parade.

I think that that idea could turn out to be something great! The parade technology is already in place, all they would need to do is change it around a little. Best part of all, I'm sure they could keep the Kidcot mask idea in there somewhere. I always thought it was neat how they connected the two.

Definite potential there!

I hope that they get another parade around world showcase, I really enjoyed ToN and ToD.

Now I'm waiting for MKT to post how they hurt his back and how many people hated the parades.

I just hope they don't name it Tapestry of ... To me the two parades always sounded like rebranded versions of each other and not worth seeing it because you saw the other one.

Sorry if this has been asked before but, Is Tapestry Of Nations still being used/displayed at Epcot? Havent Been to WDW in 4 years.....and that parade by far is my favorite.

No, it has been gone for awhile.

I also hope they come up with a whole new different parade for Epcot using the countries. No Tapestries.

Wow, that would be a great idea. 'Bout time they got a new one, too.

I got a better idea, though. They should have a parade with floats from the different countries, except they throw beads off and everybody gets drunk! Woot! Go Mardi Gras! :p :hammer:

Sounds great! I know its scream scape, but I'm really hoping its true. Epcot needs a new parade, and I loved ToN. Let's hope the bring back the old "Weela" theme song music. :sohappy: Hopfully they'll have all the puppets as well.

I loved the parades at Epcot. Many of my friends who work there didn't like them though because they said Epcot wasn't made for a parade. It may not be but the ones that had are my favorites still. I can't wait so see another one now.

Could this be the Sage's grand return? Also, I'm hoping for a certain someone to return at Imagination, with some friends tagging along(Dreamfinder and the dreamseekers from Tapestry of Dreams.)

I also hope that they have a new parade ready for the 25th, but I also wished that they would have kept Tapestry of Nations until then. Tapestry of Nations was by far WDW's most popular parade, the music lives on (after the parade, who didn't have the song in there heads?), and the message the parade gave was truly inspiring. I feel Tapestry of Dreams lost something in the mix when it came out (it was still great, just not as great as 'Nations'). The message changed, and the Sage was gone (he tied the parade together with the fireworks), and the opening monologue was a lot worse. However, I do hope that they can find some use of the old parade in a new one (specifically the drum float). Maybe they could add one float for each pavillion (Space, Energy, Test Track, Land, Seas, Imagination, Innoventions), one float for former attractions (Life, Horizons, Motion), one long float comprising World Showcase, and have the parade end with a big futuristic Spaceship Earth Float that truley represents Epcot's Future. Add some great music (which Epcot is known for), a little choreography, and you have a nice 25th parade. One last thing they should do is reconfigure the standing spots, walking spots, and crossing spots.

BTW: What was the official reason as to why they took down Tapestry?

I agree that ToN is superior to ToD, yet the Dreamseekers were okay characters, but they belonged elsewhere, like maybe in a new thing for Imagination, like a replacement for HISTA, under the title of the old 3D show that was around in the early days of Epcot, Magic Journeys.

Not only that, but the ToD parade officials from what I hear cared less about the parade and the performers than the ToN guys.

Anyway, I'd like to see a ToN like parade, but I don't think you can surpass ToN now or ever.

I do like the idea of incorporating the Future World pavillions into a parade. But I really don't like the thought of having a traditional-type parade. TON/TOD was great for WS because it was different, very few, rather simple floats, mostly performers. I don't have any concrete reason why it worked for WS, but it just seemed right.

I don't know the exact reason for doing away with TON/TOD, but there was one huge contributing factor. The puppets were awful on the performers' backs. Many went to doctors and chiropractors, and some still suffer from pain from holding the puppets. In fact, MKT, a member here is one of those people. I also don't think that the TOD theme quite 'worked' as well as the TON theme did.

Just had an idea. What if Epcot had two parades (a la MK). The daytime parade would be held in Future World (with the ideas I said before), and the nightime parade would be held in WS. The nightime could be the ToN-type parade. Like ToN and Spectromagic, the Parade would not be traditional and would truly call out (just like ToN did).
