New Orlando Sentinel article about Epcot's StormStruck attraction

What kind of ticket attraction will this be? I don't think it will be an e-ticket. But it might bring some crowds and lines into Innoventions. This sounds like its more than an exhibit. I can't wait to see it, my family survived hurricane Charley.

It'll be an Innoventions exhibit for sure... none of them really fall into the A-E type setup... they're more like sponsor exhibits at a world's fair.

So why isn't space over there?

That's one thing that's ALWAYS bothered me about EPCOT...It's devided like the human mind(left brain/right brain)so why would Imagination be left?

The earlier pavilion (Horizons) fit a bit better... but Mission Space is more about the technological journey. Dip into your EPCOT field guide and you'll read that little tidbit about how even the walkways/waterways of FutureWorld even reflect the nature of the "sides" of the park.

Ah! I've always wondered about that. I knew there has to be a reason why FW East was straight paths intersecting at clean angles, while FW West was more curved around the water.

Just curious, was the design of the pavilions also a reflection of this? The reason is if you think about it, FW West follows the natural geographic features of the earth, with the "mountain peaks" of Imagination! descending down to the "low curves" of The Seas building.

Also, a little OT, but is the water cycle of earth there as well? Since there is a "waterfall" in front of Imagination!, and a continuous body of water all the way down to where it "crashes ashore" at The Seas, it seems to represent the flow of water on the earth quite well.

Oh, and in regards to this storm thing: Yes, sounds very interesting. I'll definitely give it a try when I'm at Epcot.

That's awesome - we were staying at the Grand Floridian for our honeymoon when Hurricane Charlie hit! Our hometown paper was calling us for commentary - oh the memories!:ROFLOL:

I vote for a Canadian extreme weather attraction...like this winter when I was snowed in...we could all sit in a small room with no heat or lights watching the snow pile around the windows. You'll get the feeling that cabin fever is setting in and start wondering how your roommates would taste cooked over an open flame

good times...:xmas:

Certainly sounds interesting. I always enjoyed the fire prevention one....this sounds like its along the same lines with a bit of different technology.

Sounds interesteing...I think a weather pavillion would be an awsome idea...You could even "Go Green" with the Project and tie in some effects of Global Warming. If would be nice to see them Bring Life back to the Old Wonder of Life Pavillion.

well that wouldn't work because global warming doesnt exist. It is a figment of Al Gore's imagination.
