Not that I know of. Until they want Rat and won't pay for LPS....

What is Rat and LPS? Sorry, been on here for all these years and still find these abbreviations deter from reading threads sometimes.

Oh and just my input, I would love to see this ride come to Hollywood Studios in Pixar Place. Looks great to me and I believe Disney should never stop leaning on their Dark Rides!

Rat = Ratatouille
LPS = Local positioning system? (I think). Basically the trackless system used in Poohs Hunny Pot in Tokyo.

The rumor is that a Ratatouille dark ride using the LPS trackless system is being built in Paris. There were several rumors that a clone would be coming to either the France pavillion at EPCOT or more recently to the Pixar Place expansion at DHS.

Thanks! I figured it was Ratatouille....Having that ride in France at Epcot would be awesome! I'm having good vibes about the near future of DHS though. With the accusition of Star Wars, Radiator Springs Racers pretty much confirmed, and the hat disappearing from promotional material, I'm feeling pretty optimistic. Which I haven't felt in a long time about WDW. The New Fantasyland might have just turned things around for WDW.

Just my two cents...
I think a Monsters Inc dark ride and a Ratatouille ride along with a restaurant from Cars (Flo's V-8 Cafe) would be amazing. I would love a homage to UP but, I can't think of one. I just think Pixar Place should be on the top of Disney's list... if done properly, it'd be a hit. The great thing about Pixar Place is that it's very gender neutral unlike ETWB/Fairytale Hall... DHS could become the young boys' favorite park? And parents/young adults like Pixar, too (not to say they don't like princesses)!

Then replace the BATB and VOTLM with new shows, maybe? And replace American Idol with something now that the show is losing fanbase.

I think post NFL, DHS needs Disney's time and money.
AK should follow... and not with AvatarLand.

So, theoretically, if this was being considered for DHS, it could make some sense over the Door Coaster since... (1) it could potentially be build quicker then the door coaster and (2) it might only require Soundstage 1 more or less as a footprint. Point #2 is important because from what I understand of the Door Coaster plans, the building behind was going to be the entrance, which means that BLT basically needs to be shut down to get onto the Door Coaster. Theoretically, they might be able to get this dark ride up and running with an entrance from the Pixar Place "street" next to TSMM and allow BLT to run for a while longer. Also, if this ride is a smaller footprint compared to the coaster, then it might allow more room for other attractions or whatnot (hypothetically, for example, building the Ratatouille ride and a Gaston's French restaurant).

Just a guess on my part and I'm not talking about any specifics, but I could see how this ride might be perceived to make more sense for DHS than the door coaster.

Personally, I think the door coaster would be more fun to me, but for the best interests of DHS, I believe this ride should be put in instead.

I tend to lean that way as well. Personally, I'd rather have the Door Coaster, but I think this ride would probably be a more needed and balancing addition to DHS and Pixar Place. This is especially true is indeed RSR is added, which is another height restricted ride.

I agree that this would be fine to replace the door roller coaster ride. DHS is mainly seen as the most "thrill ride" park at WDW and a ride like this would not only make it more family friendly, but it would cut the midway lines in half allowing everyone to be able to experience both. The last time I went to DHS I tried going on TSMM numerous times and the line was either ridiculously long or it was broken down.

I'm predicting that this will cut Toy Story Mania's constant 120 minute line to a 70 minute line, and this attraction will have 50 minute lines.

Is this accurate?

Unfortunately I don't think this will happen, but I would love to see WDI create an E-Ticket Incredibles ride in the possible to become Pixar Place expansion to go along with the MI Door Coaster and Rat ride. The Incredibles is not a very much used IP/franchise in the Disney Parks other than certain characters posing for M&G's and the Play Parade, but I think they could make a cool ride for this if done right. It would make for an awesome super hero ride and it would also make Lassseter even moreso strongly consider this project since he kinda/sorta would perfer other options rather that copycat over Radiator Springs Racers and Flo's V8 Diner in DCA's Carsland. Just a thought/suggestion I guess that'll probably never pass blue sky.

Saw that, even found the patent. Not sure why they think its for Shanghai. It could easily be for any park.

Do you have a link to the patent? I have been search the patent sites and haven't been able to find it.

One this to remember is that just because there is a patent, doesn't mean there are current plans to build it anywhere.
