*sigh*
It's the same model as before, and does not reflect the current plan.
The blueprints and drainage schematics we have are what you should go by.

Seriously. Ask yourself.
In any construction project, what comes first? The concept design, or the actual blueprints that show what to build and how to build it?

The model is nice, but older than the other plans.
My final presentation models tend to come after I have done my final drawings.

What is this? A Fantasyland for ants? How can we be expected to have children ride the attractions... if they can't even fit inside the buildings?

I don't wanna hear your excuses! The land has to be at least... three times bigger than this!

Zoolander references on a WDWMAGIC=awesomeness

It's a new park they are starting! Walt Disney World's Ant Park! Now featuring TWO Dumbo rides!

All I'm saying is that the blueprints that had been leaked are not the only blueprints that exist. Blueprints exist that are exactly as the model shows. Don't assume that the model is not accurate. All information I have seen points to dumbo being exactly where the model shows.

Thanks for the info. This is interesting...

I'm going with the leaked/drainage blueprints being what's built. Disney has changed their minds before, heck we've had insiders saying just a few months ago that Barnstormer would go the way of the dodo, but Imagineering makes many models, and they start with blueprints. In essence, there could be a dozen "blueprints" and models Imagineering has made. I agree that other blueprints (that haven't been leaked) exist, but I believe that the blueprints leaked are what we're getting, since the blueprints most similar to what was leaked were the ones filed with the local government.

In the end, though, does it really matter to us what the final configuration of Pixie Hollow/Dumbo/Barnstormer will be?

The model is dated, but in all honesty how relevant is the placement of attractions on a model? This may be the most detailed model they have at the moment, so that's what they're releasing pictures of.

haha, yes!

Finally! I thought I was alone out here. :lookaroun

I wish I had more input on the model/blueprint discussion but the only thing that comes to mind is "just wait". I'm pretty excited to know exactly where everything is going but with construction starting soon on everything else... might as well just wait it out and take the model and blueprints as just teasers until it's actually being done. I won't believe a thing about PH until we're actually staring at it being made.

Lee

Can you explain why there was a change from the model to the blueprint design?

It looks like the model has something interesting north of PH and the blueprints lack this feature because of the new DD location.

Having delved deeper into this issue, I've come to the conclusion that the leaked blueprint configuration is what WDW is getting. I looked at an aerial photograph, comparing that to the blueprints (which fit perfectly with the current park layout). The artist rendering and 3-D model have grossly exaggerated the space between Barnstormer and the Indy Cars. There is no way the NextGen queue and both Dumbo spinners will fit between the Barnstormer's infrastructure and the Speedway.

See Dumbo in the top right corner? Now try squeezing that between the Speedway and Barnstormer.

Some have said that Barnstormer will be moved, so that would potentially solve any problems with the model's spacing. If you don't want to think about it too hard, though, just trust Lee. :)

Regarding Dumbo not fitting, I initially had the same thought, but if you look closely at the model, the spinners are above (North, I think) of Barnstormer and Indy, and it is only the tent that is wedged in that little area. I don't have photoshop, but it looks to me that Dumbo could possibly just barely fit if configured that way. And, even in the model, it is a tight fit.

I have no inside knowledge, so though I am only I lurker, I tend to trust Lee as he seems to often know his stuff. That said, I think it would look and feel better if Dumbo was as shown in the model. I don't really like the Dumbo/Circus wrapping around Pixie Hollow idea, but, I'll take what they give us.
