New Mid-Day Ticket Option

This makes absolutely no sense to me, because noon is a time that it starts to get naturally busier. These type of deals usually allow entrance at a time when crowds start to get lower, like 3 or 4 pm. Granted, they’re at day-trip locations, but certaub fundamentals still apply. And instead of balancing crowds and getting more people through the gates, this seems like it’ll just create an even greater influx at noon and save people some money.

I imagine someone did the math but maybe they forgot to carry a 0 or something.

So how will Extra Morning Magic work with this? Haven’t had a chance to ask this since posting this morning. Will MDE prevent you from purchasing this event ticket ?

After 4pm tickets are only appealing if the park is open until 10pm.

With MK closing at 6pm many nights, and Epcot, DHS and AK rarely open past 9pm, it would not be seen as worth it at this price point.

They would have to lower the price or increase park hours to justify an after 4pm ticket and Disney clearly doesn't want to do either.

As for increasing crowds in the afternoon, that may be their goal.
Think about this, Hollywood studios EMH start at 6am, AK and MK are at 7am everyday. If guests are getting a start that early, they may be expecting them to tucker out between 12 and 2 and then return at the end of the evening for a few hours. This may be a way to fill the parks up during nap time.

Very Interesting, but I guess they will be offering a new ticket option that allows you to enter the park no earlier than 12PM. I'm trying to get more details but a strange option.

2 Day Ticket - $88 per Day
3 Day Ticket - $84 per Day
4 Day Ticket - $79 per Day

This offer is for start dates before December 15, 2019 and can start as of today. So this looks like a pilot or just another way to fill in the gaps in Fall before the holiday.

This board never disappoints.

I saw this announcement and thought it was a great idea and would be a good way for my family to save some money without changing anything about the way we like to do the parks. I also immediately knew that if I came here and checked, this would be almost universally decried by the folks here. The most hardcore of Disney fans who hate literally everything Disney does.

Thanks, guys. Never change.
Right. This is literally a price cut and people are .

How do you figure this is a price cut, their charging you $88 for 6 hours (12-6) in the park= per hour cost is $13/hour -- a 2 day park ticket is $107 per day for 9 hours(9-6) per day= $11.88/hour. All Disney has given you is the option of less time in the park and charging you their same going rate.

This is not just a Magic Kingdom ticket, nor is it only good on party days, which is all you've quoted. The other three parks are all open later (either 8, 9, or 10 p.m. in most cases), as is Magic Kingdom on non-party days.

Were going in October and I’m considering purchasing these. We’re only doing five nights, one night MNSSHP. We were just there in March for ten days, so this is more of a a casual trip. Works for us.

Really wish you could buy just 1. This would work for arrival day for us...

If you're buying multiday tickets, an extra day can sometimes be only a couple of bucks when you get to the 4 and 5 day level. The difference right now between a 4 day park hopper and a 5 day park hopper is $2.

You know there's a difference between white knighting for Disney and being a fan who can still be objectively critical right? You don't have to exclusively be the former to be able to call yourself a fan and if anything I'd consider said white knighters to be absolute suckers who probably get screwed on the regular by big corporations.

If they were actually being serious about this as an option, and not just doing it to avoid more bad press while trying to address the fact that attendance was down, they'd offer it as a one-day option too. Can confirm when I worked in ticket sales that half-day or afternoon-only tickets were a multiple-times-a-day inquiry. They'd make a killing selling the one option they still don't offer.
