I'm talking about the magician Mickey. His mouth moves as he's talking and will converse with you.

Is this not a new and exclusive to the Magic Kingdom Mickey?
It's not super new. but I think for Meet And Greets Talking Mickey is only available at magic kingdom

I'll be really surprised if Tokyo get them before WDW does...

On a slightly different note, I'm curious as to know if anyone knows how the new articulated heads work, not just on Mickey and Minnie but on everyone since Mickey's Royal Friendship Faire debuted? They seem to be operated differently than they did on Dream Along.

Nope...It was orignally tested out at the 2011 D23 Expo

A few weeks later he was tested in Toontown at DL...

After tests they started rolling him out in his Standard outfit before the Magician outfit was put on...

I forgot that Talking Mickey debuted at D23 2011. Why do I like Talking Mickey better without being a magician. For some reason it felt alot more interactive back then.

I think you should ask that question on the sub-furm "How Do They Do That?" since it's more necessary.

Dream Along articulated heads were more like puppets, the mouth movements and blinking was operated by the performer using buttons in their gloves. The newer versions are pre-programmed to move along with the soundtrack.

I agree, Mickey's costume doesn't bother me that much but it's Minnie's costume and bow that really bugs me.
I think it's the fact Minnie's bow looks too small for her head that annoys me the most. Going on seeing this and Let The Magic Begin, I'm starting to think WDW doesn't have access to their new costumes yet. Perhaps it just to maintain character integrity but it's what I'm starting to think..

Not to mention Minnie's new dress looks alot more appalling now since it doesn't contain to many white polka dots and new shoes. Not that there's anything wrong with the 1987 (Or 1978 since that was when the current clothing for Mickey and Minnie officially debuted) Minnie costume. But after the new heads and costumes that debuted at Shanghai makes me hope once they role out the new heads they also give Minnie her new costume.

Absolutely! I adore the '87 look, I've great nostalgia for them but since the debut of the new look, especially since MRFF at Magic Kingdom, I really wish they'd roll them out officially at WDW. (It's also really jarring seeing the '87 look after getting used to the new look.)

Does anyone else have any guess of when these heads will fully roll out at WDW. My guess is in May when the major media outlets come down to check out Pandora.

They were out during the GMA/The View reports on Pandora already....Including the Articulate Chip & Dale...

Again they have a lot to do to rollout versions for WDW...Considering all the versions that are used at the theme park for M&G's (including Magician Mickey's) Plus Fantasmic as well...
