Hello  I have been getting loads of information from this site so thought I would start posting!
We are a family of four (a girl age 7 and boy age 4)
It will be our first trip ever to Disney and we will be there for our 10th wedding anniversary!
I’m sure in the next few months I will have loads of questions, but here is what I’ve planned so far.

Dates At the moment we hope to go to Disney from Wednesday 31st May to Sunday 4th June.

Flights These have just started from our local airport (Norwich) with flybe so that’s handy. But both late afternoon flight so wont arrive at the airport till 17.30

Hotel Think we will stay at the Holiday inn as it seems the cheapest option and have also read good things about the hotel. Not sure about paying for the breakfast yet as have heard different reviews about the food (will only cost us £60 more for 4 mornings breakfast so having how worked it out think we will)

Tickets Planning to get 3 days hopper tickets before we go.

Airport transfer Think we will arrange a private transfer form the airport (still deciding on this will cost about £100 return)

Is there anything I have forgotten or anything you would recommend regarding my planning?

Thanks

Liz

You should think about staying at a Disney hotel in the Resort. Disney's Hotel Santa Fe is the cheapest and if you book a holiday package through Disneyland Paris themselves, you're park tickets are included in your price and they give you unlimited entry. Perks such as free breakfast in Fantasyland an hour before park opening is offered as well. I'm going tomorrow and staying in Santa Fe and it was very reasonable priced!

I've only been the one - but found the Santa Fe cheaper than the non-Disney hotels and so I stayed there.

The hotel is a ten minute stroll (or free bus ride) from the park entrance. At the entrance is the train station that will take you straight to Paris if you wish to see some real France.

Absolutley stay in a Disney Hotel! Although we`ve stayed at the Newport, the theming in all the hotels we`ve sen is superb (though the lakeside ones are undergoing a much needed exterior rehab right now)

As mentioned above, you can take a pleasent stroll along great landscaped paths next to the Rio Grande, or the free shuttle bus. As well as a breakfast in the park, and check on this, you *may* get free hotel breakfasts too. Plus unlimited access to both parks.

Your planning is quite good. Of course, coming from the states, I prefer to stay in Paris proper and take RER to the park each day I go, but otherwise you sound in good shape. I would pipe in that you might spend a few euros more to stay on site at one of the Disney resorts, but I think it is worth it. Of course, the Holiday Inn is also convenient and has shuttle service. The Paris parks are NOT like the US parks and are much more manageable. I think the cab fare estimate is an understimate for the cost return to and from the airport. You might want to look at some of the Disney options - also check to see if the Holiday Inn has a pickup from the airport as well. I know they tried to do that once upon a time but might have discontinued it. Similarly, RER is not that expensive from the airport to Marne Le Valle (Disneyland Parc stop) - it is more convenient to use a cab service for sure, but not that cheap. I would estimate more in the 150 pound range for return. Whatever published rates you see, add a third. There is a lot of construction in Paris, just like everywhere else on the roads. (by the way, last time I was in London, it cost me 70 pounds to go from the Strand to Heathrow off peak - and that is closer than from either of the airports in Paris to Marne-le-Valle)

I was curious, what made you decide not to stay on property? Did you find the train rides into the park each day a hassle?

In all honesty? I adore DRP, but when I go to Paris (twice a year) I go to Paris. DRP is a part of the visits - but I find there is not enough there to keep you busy for more than a day or two. As an adult, a friend of mine who lives in Paris will join me for a day and we'll get park hoppers, and we can do all of the attractions in both parks in one day. I will usually go back a second day by myself to enjoy the parks again and do some of the lesser attractions that we did not do earlier. With kids, it will take longer to do the attractions and it is certainly easier to stay on property.

Just returned from a first visit to Disneyland Resort Paris- stayed at the Hotel Santa Fe and it was very enjoyable and comfortable. Free continental breakfast every morning at the Hotel and then we had free breakfast in Bella Notte in Fantasyland an hour before park opening.

Loved it and will be returning!

I definately recommend staying on property for the first visit! The VEA shuttle is excellent and picks up right at the door of Charles De Gaulle and drops you at the door of your hotel :)

IMO the cheapest Disney Accommodation would be, the Davy Crockett Cabins... The only backdraw is, it's the only Disney accommodation without Disney Transport available to the parks... However there is public transport available to the parks... :D without the Disney name on it... and of course they speak french on those busses...

Not the best period to go to Disneyland Paris

Hi there! I am a new member and I m a french Cast Member at DLRP (Pirates of the caribbean).
So yo have planned to come between the 31st of May and the 4th of June...
You have to know that the first week end of June is really busy because it is the week end of the "pentecote"in France. But you ll have time to enjoy all the rides and shows during the other days of your stay...moreover it will be sunny (well, actually I hope).
Unfortunately, Pirates of the Caribbean will be in refurbishment at this time...but you'll enjoy the new ride (new for Disneyland Paris ;o)p ) Buzz.

Also a first timer here

I been to all Disney parks around the world, even the new Hong Kong, but never Paris. This summer I will finally get there, but was wondering what everyone's opinion of the Disneyland Hotel is....also, would it be better to buy the package or just get my room separate? I know packages at WDW are rip offs. We are two adults, no kids, could care less about early fantasyland or a character breakfast. I am going the first week of july. Any help would be great!

Been there done that.
If you go to DLRP go to the Disneyland Hotel. We stayed at the Castle Club. Its expensive but its worth every dollar.
Free soda drinks the whole day,at four o clock High Thea, also free, your own prived elevator that brings you practily in the park.
If you have more questions feel free ta ask.
