Kind of like how there are 2 Live Action Snow Whites coming out this summer. Should be interesting how this affects the Legacy of the Disney Films.

I like how POTC 4 portrayed the mermaids, pretty close to how the real mythologies on mermaids are. Now with a darker mermaid story in the works, I can say, I'm looking foward to it.

Yes, I definately want to see this....the original fairy tales were not very nice you know, so its good to see an honest remake.

Since Disney's musical version was, more or less, a reimagining of the original tale (don't remember right off whether it was Bros Grimm or HC Anderson), is it even correct to call a different studio's interpretation of the tale a "reimagining" of the Disney version? The story itself is public domain; with all due respect to the Disney musical, which I love, Disney was hardly the first, nor will it be the last, to dramatize this story.
