New Info on Reunion Station

Thanks for posting this. It sounds a little steep for me. Perhaps it would be different if it was a resort with nothing else to do in the area, it might be something I would consider. But with spending time at 4 theme parks, as well as Disney Springs and with all of the other dining options, I don't think it would be worth it. I just wouldn't be able to spend as much time at Reunion Station to make it worthwhile.

Now if they sold it by the night instead of by length of stay, that may be a different story.

Looking up prices, it's about on par for a regular room (they run about $200/night more) type. We are laid back people and I have always loved our concierge stays so we are considering it. We'll wait for more reviews and decide though I'm leaning towards yes.

I'm confused, having read the article. The information is somewhat sketchy, to say the least.

So the CL part of it is only for the mornings and evenings.

And during the rest of the day there will be stuff going on that anyone can pay do. Do the CL gusts get those activities for free then?

How does the cost compare to true CL where you can have an exclusive lounge and free drinks and food all day?

And I wonder if paying for this, allows you to pay an extra $50 per night to get the extra fastpasses?

Cost wise, it's a little under for a family of four (2 kids under 10). I've noticed that CL rooms are usually about $200+ more. We'll likely find the real details soon enough. It's not even on the DVC site yet. I think we'll find out for sure when it opens - which I hope is soon. We're willing to try it once at least I think :)

We'll likely get all the answers to all the questions once it does open!

A little bit more details here, which I confirmed with DVC:

Ah, that's a bit more fleshed out then. Thanks.

So, if I'm reading this correctly, the pay for activities are still only for DVC members. I thought they were for anyone staying at WL or the associated DVC @ WL. And those paying for the concierge service will likely still have to pay for those.

The issue over membership benefits doesn't affect me, so less important.

Concierge Services are DVC only. Presumably paid events will be as well, but remains to be seen. Complimentary member mixer will likely be just DVC Members eligible for Membership Extras.

Let me preface this by saying I know I shouldn’t be....

But....

I am shocked anyone would consider paying for this. Like, legitimately shocked.

Different strokes right?

I am waiting on reviews to see if we will do it or not. I have loved concierge stays though so I'm kind of wishing they'd offer this in more places.

I guess.

What “stroke” makes this a net positive though? I can’t even begin to see the benefit. I own at OKW, and I pray they don’t add something so dumb to my resort.

I was talking to @George off Magic, the only benefit we could come up with is some sort of faux status symbol by being able to pay $50 for what would cost you under $20 to do yourself. ie, walk to roaring forks for coffee instead of getting it “for free” at the oddly named reunion station.

I dunno.

I just mean people like different things. Honestly if you don't want to do it then don't.

Don't toss out insults though. We are likely going to do it. Not for fake status, but because we enjoy concierge. Pretty much end of story.

For what then? It’s not really concierge because it’s not near your room. It’s a stand alone structure that you have to actively get to. But you know all the details.

What makes this seem like something you’d like?

We don't have enough info to know all the details though and I'm just not going to be all negative until I hear the real details after it officially opens. That said, it's near enough to the room. It's not like WL is a huge resort or that you are always right next door to the main concierge lounges anyway. I have no issues walking to get somewhere.

I love concierge lounges though. Since DVC we haven't been able to do it the same way and I did always like having that option. I like the feel, the foods (we'd have two meals there - breakfast and dinner with the appetizers), the drinks, the service. I've had it at a few Disney resorts and the Swan when they offered it. I can't give a run down list of what I like, but I do. My husband agrees we might try this as well. Life is too short not to enjoy things at times and this sound right up our alley.

I guess we will just agree to disagree here. I hate this use of the space. Also, it's only a concierge lounge for a couple hours a day. The rest of the time it's home to more random upcharge events. I'm hoping there are more folks like me, and less like you, and this is a one off that fails.

I'm not sure why this bothers you so much anyway or why you want to put down those who might actually enjoy concierge services. That really baffles me. You don't want it? Don't do it. I see that it will have specific items 5 hours a day for the concierge only. The mixer hours are not clear on what is going on there yet. So until we have real details and see it in action it's harder to guess. We have just over 2 months until our CCV stay and I hope to see a review or real details on how it works. I lean towards getting it because we do like concierge and realize what it entails. For others, it's not a good fit for them. So no big deal. No one is forcing you to pay.

Unlike you, if this is a success I would like to see it offered elsewhere. I would love it at our two homes (OKW and PVB - especially PVB as I enjoy the lounge there immensely)

The fact that it exists at a DVC resort offends me. You want a club level room, be my guest and book one. Don't start putting airport lounges into DVC resorts. It's obnoxious.

Except AKL has concierge too. Honestly I don't want to do concierge there though because the 2 bedrooms are not dedicated and I don't like that. We use either 2 connecting studios at PVB or dedicated 2 bedrooms so that leaves us out of concierge there. Using DVC for regular concierge rooms otherwise is a lousy trade off of points. So we don't do that. Also concierge mostly does not include the types of rooms I now like to book.

I'm sorry this offends you. I am not sure why it should though. Again like a lounge in an airport no one is making you use it. Sometimes I think we get to offended too quickly in this world over things that really don't affect us much. Honestly I'm baffled by your strong reaction to this since it's not something you're required to do or even take part of. Not like they had a CH there previously so this is just something new to try like the cabins and bungalows (which I happen to love too).
