Hey guys! I was thinking about something that I would create at EPCOT. Well, I wouldn't create it, because it was already created at one point...anyways...

If you could just demolish Mission: Space, and bring back Horizons! Maybe it could be called: Horizons-second look into the future!

After the ride, you would have you know that big indoor room with a bunch of activites with computor screens and junk, and maybe like near the back of that room a new Carousel of Progress could be built there! :) What do you think? I think if they can bring Captain E-O back, then they can bring Horizons Back!

No way I would ever support this at all. Actually if they ever proposed that I would protest that idea. Do not think that I hate Horizons, but i would never be in favor of getting rid of Mission Space. That ride is one of my favorite rides at the parks. I know a lot of people dislike it, but I find it to be the best ride at Epcot and third best at all of the parks behind TOT and Rock N' Roller Coaster. So I would be totally against this and I hope it would never happen don't hate on me I am just expressing my opinion.

That would be AWESOME!! I hate M:S, but I LOVE Horizons, it was one of the most ambitious Disney dark rides!!!

But, let's face it, it's impossible.... :(

if they could tear down horizons and make Mission: Space, then no it's not impossible.

if Universal hollywood can turn E.T. adventure into the mummy, then no it's not impossible.

if disney is all about magic, then no it's not impossible.

nothing is impossible :)

Just an opinion from me so it might not be worth much.

I love most dark rides, water rides, rollercoasters and even some carnival rides and I think MS is the worst ride in all of WDW, I really do. It is about as thrilling as a Gravitron and has the graphics of a ColecoVision game. Somebody screwed up big time on this one. They spent a boatload of money on an experience that belongs in DisneyQuest and tried to "plug the dam" by breaking the contract with the developers.

Back on topic. I'd love to see Horizons 2.0. It won't happen in my lifetime though.

Mission: SPACE isn't as good as Horizons. That is a given. The fact is, it is a ride that cost a lot of money to build and is still fairly popular with guests. If anything was going to be demolished, it should be Wonders of Life...

It's not impossible, but it's definitely not probable. Disney is going to build rides/shows that will bring them money, and they got rid of Horizons because it wasn't bringing in the guests. I miss it too, if I had it my way I would have put M:S in WOL spot, but M:S is something that can bring people in. And Capt. EO is a show, so it's easier to bring back a show than an entire gutted building/ride. :)

The only way it would happen would be by making it a pavillion that featured some sort of thrill ride, like Space Mountain Mission 2. Which I bet would bring in more guests than M:S.

And they wouldn't have to demolish M:S. They could give it to HKDL in exchange for a clone of Mystic Manor :D

While I would love if Horizons came back, you're campairing a return of a film with a demolition of a newer attraction and rebuilding an old one. I think it would cost just a few dollars more than bringing back a film. :p

good idea. While M:S is cool, IDK if it really deserves a entire pavillion. It's really just a amped up spinny ride u see at carnivals on massive steroids...with the theming and all (which is great) It's like if they demolished wonders of life to put in "sum of all thrills"

Not really it is one of the most advanced simulators that there is :brick:Its not Horizons and doesn't pull in the numbers it should but its a lot more than Sum of all Thrills.

Given the importance of M:S in Epcot and the love for Horizons.. couldn't they just integrate them somehow? Omnimover that starts off with a space shuttle take off to the future and then you move through the cool new technology. I am sure they could use technology from say a tower of terror to move the ride vehicle to a centrifuge and then onto an overhanging belt.

i don't understand all the hate for Space....it's a great thrill ride, and one that the park needs. All the other parks have some sort of thrill ride in them. If they were to get rid of anything for the love of god get rid of test track. i find it funny people stand in line for an hour just to ride in a car (which most people do every day at a much faster speed). If we are debating to bring back Horizons in place of Space, i would rather have World of Motion replace Test Track.

You can't drive at that angle so that analogy doesn't really work.

Anyway TT main problem is that it doesn't fit in FW.

OK so here I go...

Demolish UOE and bring back Horizons! UOE is so outdated and in need of a re-hash. I only head there in the heat because I know it won't be crowded and I can sit down and relax in the A/C for twenty five minutes. Horizons was twice the pavillion that UOE ever was.

OK...now begin the hating!:p
