Thanks for sharing. That’s what I thought they’d look like. Definitely not 4 feet wide.

And look at that, there’s a three!
Upon closer look, I hate to break it to you but even the old ones weren't 4ft wide -

So any new ones I expect to be the same width across, and honestly looking at this picture from 2017 the old ones weren't that tall so won't take any time for the new ones to grow up that tall as well.

I don’t know, I never had my measuring tape on me. Whatever it is - they don’t look like the old ones yet (which is what you said).

Well the new ones haven't been planted yet, and I haven't seen their base so can't say for sure. Also I never meant that at planting they would automatically look like the old ones, so sorry if you got that impression All I was trying to get across to you and others were that it wasn't going to long for them to get as tall and wide as the old ones, ie it wasn't going to take a decade or more, only a few years at most after planting.

No need to say sorry. Anyway glad to see those trees there. When they grow in they ll help fix the scale issues between the Mansion and the new shop.

Because the overall project to me is not the sum its parts but the whole. So I don't look at the individual pieces, I look at the overall project to say whether in my opinion its better or not. To focus on the individual pieces is not seeing the forest through the trees.
Incredibly refreshing to read something like this

I wonder if they are going with a different type of tree in this area, the ones on the left aren’t in the construction zone so I don’t think they “had” to cut them down, it’s possible they were sick or had overgrown the area but it seems they could have saved them if they wanted.

A week later and the new Best Buy carriage house is now fully enclosed with sheetrock and roofing.

I know Disneyland is crammed full of stuff but this really does feel a bit out of place aside from the scale issues it creates with the Mansion. Something off about not having a visual break between Mansion and TRFKASM

I still think it'll look like it'll belong when completed.
It’s not very often we’re on the same side of an argument but I think the end result will look fine also. I think it looks smaller already just from enclosing the frame, I think as more detail gets added it’ll continue to decrease the scale and help it blend in with the area.

Time will tell.

I mean it’s not a death blow to the ambiance in the area. It’s just a poor/ odd choice that comes from a seemingly less experienced/ savvy WDI dept than we had in the past.

Wrong. Ambience is dead. Disneyland is dead.
Speaking of ambience, I’d like HM to be given an exterior music loop year-round like WDW has. They bring the Paris music box loop from PM for HMH, but I think the ethereal version of Grim Grinning Ghosts that sounds like the wind that plays outside of the WDW mansion would work wonders here, especially if some of the visual ambience is now lacking.

They put up speakers for the HMH loop. I was in line for HMH during Fantasmic, and you could hear Fantasmic in the distance. Then came Heffalumps and Woozles. I hear a distant “they’re here,” then a BOOMINGLY LOUD “THEY’RE THERE” come from the HMH speakers. I was shook lol

Don't they play the music box loop for HMH?
