Both Universal and J.K. are extremely protective of theming for the Wizarding World and that type of commercial would ruin the narrative. Disney gains hype from those kind of commercials but Universal tends to save all of the surprises util you experience them first hand.I have to admit, the more I see about this ride the more I am looking forward to it. I think Universal should do a "Disney-type"
add when they get close, showing them bringing in the Fluffy AA, or Ford Anglia on a flat bed. This is going to be a fun ride!

I mean making an official commercial of a HP prop on the back of a semi truck isn’t going to happen.Considering, it is already pretty clear that both of the noted items will be part of the ride, I don't see how it would in any way,
"ruin the narrative". If anything, I think it would increase the anticipation of the rides opening.

Because magic doesn’t arrive on the back of a truck. Why not!?! Did you see when Toy Story Land was being built? Disney actually had a commercial confirming when the new land
was opening and even showed them bringing in the Slinky Coaster ride vehicle. Maybe the should consider, "that kind of a
commercial".

Muggles.....

It's not like NBC/Universal has never shown behind the magical curtain before....

This was also AFTER it was open.
I don't think she is against it. It's just not how Universal rolls.Just from an informational standpoint, why would you be against advertising the new ride, this way, before hand?
I am just interested, because this is how it sounds.

The lack of PR, whether it be press releases, blog posts, or social media interaction has been odd for about the past year. I know they have had a major change of plans, but even the stuff that they have mentioned like T2's replacement or this Potter coaster, all we have gotten is a short paragraph with little to no info.Maybe not an official commercial, but I don’t see why they couldn’t hype things up on social media with stuff like props and vehicles arriving.
In general I think Universal could do a better job at hyping things up.

To me I was under the impression that they knew it wouldn't be well received, because it seems like it wasn't really hyped much at all.I wonder if they've gotten more cautious after they got egg on their face from the debacle that is Fast and Furious and the major negative reaction it's gotten, especially on social media...
