Please, go mention this on DIS Boards. I did and was told it was the dumbest thing they had ever heard. It is the first
time I have ended up in a serious argument with someone in a Disney discussion. (I may disagree with people from
time to time, but everyone is allowed their own opinion.)

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. It doesn't mean their opinion is valid.

Walt liked innovation, new, and fresh often untried ideas. The original concept models of WDW showed monorails and people movers crossing the property. The ideas werent focused soley on practically, if they wanted efficient and purely functional they could have just stuck with busses.

Maybe I’m just looking at what they’re building as ordinary because I’ve experienced it so frequently on the ski slopes, but as @marni1971 said Disney invented the People Mover, it seems like such a shame that this is the best that could have been come up with. Yeah it gets the job done but it’s so ordinary.

Do you think anyone will ever develop a sentimental attachment to the gondola versus the first time they rode on a Monorail? Or got on the WDWRR?

Monorails existed for almost 60 years before Walt...they weren't an original concept. The initial DL monorail wasn't designed as a mass transit system, either. It was little more than an attraction in the park that played at being a transport option...Im not really sure what your point is here, as it just supports utilizing many different transport options.

Yes @Rteetz has said there was a problem with the cabin production.

Doppelmayr's other projects might back that up. The new Blackcomb Gondola is delayed 3 weeks. Bretton Woods in New Hampshire just posted the following: "While construction continues on the Gondola, supply chain delays coupled with the 5 feet of snow Bretton Woods received this November have delayed the delivery date for the Gondola. We are working closely with the Doppelmayr Gondola Construction Team to determine when the Gondola will be operational. "

I wonder if Disney paid a little extra for manufacturing priority...

Was in Gatlinburg over Thanksgiving week and got a chance to ride the Ober Gatlinburg sky tram. Man, that thing is ancient, but it is quite a fun/terrifying ride. I think Disney missed an opportunity to put in a swinging tram in WDW, lol.

I was probably being oversensitive, but when I noted I had heard there would be a reduction in the bus service, I was told
it was the dumbest thing posted during the discussion.

I can see someone making an argument against total elimination of buses, but when you look at the capacity of this system, it's hard to logically believe they would run buses with the same frequency. Of course I realize logic rare comes up in these type of arguments. ;)

I have mentioned it over there, and the same thing happened. They tried to dismiss the information. There is one poster in particular who shows up in every thread. Her name is Angie and she will defend Disney to the death. She is an expert in her own mind. I personally think that she is one of those people that a company pays to clean up their image on the internet. If she isn't being paid by Disney, she should be. However, I will keep posting the information over there in hopes that it helps people trying to make informed decisions.

you get +10 if staying on site?
Sort of. At 180 days out from your first day onsite, you get to make reservations for your entire length of stay up to 10 days. If you were staying offsite, on day 180 you could make reservations for your first day. Then the next day you could make reservations for your second day, and so on.

corrugated metal roof to the swoops that will cover the queues and exits. Sized to fit? No thanks, we'll just buzz cut off the excess... fits now!
I think that design is called "ribbed", not "corrugated", but I could be wrong. Apologies for being overly precise. Like the scorpion said, it's in my nature.

Did anyone hear or find out why they had to remove, then replace/reposition the last tower?

I really don't understand why people choose to attack the messenger. Again, I guess it's just in people's nature.

To the underlying information about bus service, I guess there's no convincing people of something they don't want to believe. You've done your good work in putting the information out there. What people choose to do with that information is up to them.

Have you informed them about the AC? Lol
