I wouldn’t brag too much online about teaching at DU while sharing information from the OGs and other Welcome To Transportation/Ops curriculum (which as you know are marked as confidential material and all current and former Cast are officially prohibited from sharing said material). Disney’s compliance peeps definitely read these and other forums, and are pretty darn good at their jobs. Either way, thanks for the official info.
I understand about the sensitivity to confidential information. Also I am not bragging about teaching at DU , it's just a way of validating my info is accurate. Also the little that I'm sharing is public knowledge to CM's, without any secrecy concerns. That being said, in response I will no longer be posting to this thread. You will learn all the answers to your questions when you ride the Skyliner for yourself. Have a great day!😉

Tim and Jen Tracker come to mind. They quit their jobs to spend full time in the parks filming every mundane thing you can think of. Random nuts send them anywhere from $5 to $50 whenever they do a live video chat. This allows them to spend even more time in the parks filming even more mundane things. And now Disney is inviting them to events and paying their way... so there can't be too much of a problem here. LOL!
I like their videos, but they make a living doing them, so that puts them clearly in the "web journalist" mode -- for profit.

Checked, it's clearly in the OG. I would expect it's necessary so scooters, wheelchairs, and elderly can board with out issues. 1' p/second would be about walking speed more or less, kind of a quick pace to load a scooter!
1 fps is 0.68 mph, which is about 1/5 walking speed.

The unload and load areas in the stations are probably 10-15' long. At 1 fpm, each cabin would be in the station more than 20 minutes. We've seen them moving through the stations much faster than that.

Maybe the cabins in the secondary load area will continue moving at 1 fpm?

Yeah...at 1' per minute, based on the estimated travel times of each leg, the entire fleet of cabins would be backed up in one station by the time one made a complete circuit through unload/load/dispatch. The longest leg in the system is CBR to EPCOT at about 11 minutes each way...

Not to say that a giant crush of almost every single cabin slamming into each other in a station wouldn't be entertaining to watch, but I don't think that is what Disney Management would be going for.

I personally like that some cabins are “plain” and some have characters included. I think it will have a better balance to the overall asthetics. That’s said, I don’t care which cabin I ride on (the characters aren’t actually riding with me... lol) but I know there will be some that wanna “wait” for a specific color, cabin or character. I’ll happily take whatever is “next”.

The cabins are numbered. How long before someone boasts and then it becomes a challenge to have ridden in every single cabin?

And how long before people start speaking about specific cabins like they do with monorail trains; pointing out the times their wrap was torn and reapplied, their maintenance history, which lines they historically traverse upon...

First half I hadn’t thought of... challenge accepted! Haha as to your point, that’s a question only maintenance will determine (not to say that we don’t get overly critical of those issues in these boards at times)

Sounds like a job for someone that likes tracking things

1 fpm doesn't even make sense for the secondary loading. Those loops are at least 20 feet, if not more, so that would mean 20 minutes for go around the loop. People need to acknowledge that 1 foot per minute is a typo, or a mistake of some kind.

More likely 1 meter/min.

At a 1m/min, a 20ft distance would be covered in 6 minutes. I would think 2 - 2.5 m/min would be most likely.
