What exactly is innovative about being close to the water? It is being built just high enough to clear anything below it, hardly an innovative idea.

Plus, water is the easiest thing to build over and it doesn't grow like trees/plants and also won't impede future construction (unless you're removing the lake). Hardest part is just building the footers.

Water is not easy to build over. This station will be the one with the deepest and most complex foundations. Not really innovative, but definitely not the easiest.

I can't think of another transportation gondola that does this. Maybe in a nature park but not as purely transport.

Especially in Florida, where the presence of water typically indicates unstable ground.
Of course, with this being in the general EPCOT area and bodies of water being moved around/created, who knows what the pylon areas would be like.
