All FP attractions that have a theater (SGE, LM, HISTA, etc.) will not distribute FPs during FY09 (01 October 2008 - 30 September 2009).

Why the fiscal year and not the calendar year?

That looks to be a clever cost cutting move.
No CM's needed to monitor the Fast Pass lines and no maintenance for Fast Pass machines.
Whoever suggested that at the Mickey's Cost Cutting Idea Meeting probably got an 'Attaboy'.

I'd rather they cut this than other stuff

I've said it before, I'll say it again...Disney is a BUSINESS. Have you turned on the news this week? There will be more cuts. Who cares if they cut fastpass for attractions with theaters, that basically don't need them anyway? There are a lot of people much worse off this week (like the 35 who just got laid off at my dad's plant out of 60 total workers) than those who are whining because of Disney's cost cutting measures. Would you rather they didn't make these cuts and went belly up?
/end rant

Why would anyone need an FP for Stitch? I've never seen a line for the show (and quite frankly, if there was one, I'd skip it).

The biggest line I've seen for for SGE is 20 minutes. LM never has a line from what I see. HISTA, I always see it with a full theater but with no line. Not a problem at all for me. They get to save on paying a CM for stading out there and they can save a tiny bit of money on paper too I guess. Maybe they will just keep the FP for those off after 30 September. This is just a casual way of starting to do that.

I didn't really think any of the shows needed FP's. Voyage of the Little Mermaid maybe, but all the others shows were already 15 minute waits if not less already. Good move, Disney.

does this include Light Motors Action? I thin Fastpasses for that are dumb. And didn't they stop using FP for ITTBAB awhile ago?
