New Fantasyland Theatre Show- Summer 2013

I thought this deserved its own thread. Some great news for DL's Fantasyland Theatre as it will actually have a show again! Coming in next summer.

We have some exciting news to share today! The Creative Entertainment team is hard at work on a spectacular live entertainment experience for the Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland park. This amazing new show is set to debut in summer 2013. In order to get everything ready, Princess Fantasy Faire will be closing August 12.

Yay, another attraction to keep watch over! I wish it was coming sooner but you can't rush a new show.

Princess Fantasy Faire has come to a close after opening in Fall 2006 replacing Snow White: An Enchanting Musical. So now it's on to the next venture for The Fantasyland Theatre.

Troubadour Tavern is closed during the conversion, the baked potatoes are said to find a new home at Harbor Galley just outside of Haunted Mansion.

I'm excited that DL will finally once again have a stage show. I do wish DL could get a theatre similar to DCA's Hyperion but I'll take a new show over a meet and greet. Well I guess were getting both at this point.

I wish DL had a huge theater the Hyperion, too. I'll settle for the stage, though. I hope they come up with something good.

The new Fantasyland Theatre show has been announced!!! Mickey and the Magical Map

Back in August, we told you our Creative Entertainment team was developing a spectacular live entertainment experience for the Fantasyland Theatre at Disneyland park. Today, I’m thrilled to share with you some more details about this amazing new show, “Mickey and the Magical Map.”

Yay!!!!! Somebody had spilled the beans a while ago on MiceChat but I wanted to hear an official announcement, first. Yay!!!!!

Looks like fun. It will be good to have a proper theater show back in that big theater again.

A great use of space for Disneyland, especially on summer days to get out of the sun for a bit.

Tangled the Musical is rumored to be going to Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. It was never rumored to be a possibility for Disneyland.

The Blue Sky Cellar has a small display setup for the musical, mostly artwork that was already posted on the blog:

They promise a "fully-restored" theatre, and this layout seems to show some new water features and redesigned courtyard at the theatre entrance. Should look very nice!

In this video from Blue Sky Cellar it says the Royal Theatre in Fantasy Faire is getting two shows based on Tangled and Beauty and the Beast. They also talk about Mickey and the Magical Map

I hope the above comes into play, I always thought the current set up was underwhelming. If it doesn't it's still better than the theatre being used as a meet and greet.

That's just 2 minutes longer than Animazement - 25 minutes was the standard show length before Aladdin. I can't wait!
