Thanks for the thread link. I had no idea it was started. That station looks insane. I may be more excited about seeing it than the entire Dumbo's Circus area.

One other thing. Looking at the photos, it looks like the new Dumbo ride that they have installed is made different than the old one. Is everyone absolutely sure they are just moving the old one over? I wouldn't think that they would want the two sitting side by side to look that different.

I don't think anyone believes that the old one will just be picked up an put next to the new one. It's more likely that it will go back stage for refurbishment first.

Yes, I have been wondering the same since I saw the model from D23. This is the mystery element nobody (and I mean nobody) is talking about. It could be anything but it is consistent with some ideas I have that I think are possible. The station is to open in early 2012 so we should know soon. Unlimited potential with this for backstory and guest immersion.

Nobody is talking about it because train stations just aren't that interesting to most people ;)

It appears the entire area will be part of the new dwarf mountain. I am not seeing what everyone is claiming is small about this section. It is a MASSIVE footprint.

I agree completely, I think the area looks plenty big enough for a nice ride. As I mentioned earlier the footprint of the mine ride looks to be at least twice, if not three times bigger then Barnstormer is.

Looking at the Storybook Circus from above, I'm confused about how they decided to lay out this portion of the park. All of the main attractions and focal points appear to be crowded right around the area's entrance, notably Dumbo and the biggest circus tent. There's just nothing to draw you to the land's northeastern corner like Mickey's House did when this area was Mickey's Birthdayland/Starland/Toontown Fair. Even the Barnstormer/Great Goofini will keep people in the land's southern half.

Now, I know that part of the the cost saving measures put in place when the Seven Dwards Mine Train replaced the Cinderella and Aurora meet and greets involved keeping the frameworks of the two largest tents. But even then, why not stick Dumbo up in the top right corner and leverage one of the existing tents (or at least the footprint of one) as the interactive queue?

Am I the only one concerned about this area becoming a bottleneck due to the lack of a weenie?

It appears that only the basic framework for the new Dumbo has been put in place. I am sure that once WDI gets a hold of it, there will e much more added to it just like the current one.

Thank you for the pictures! I love this sort of stuff!

Tiny. Much smaller than I thought. Looks like it's not even going to be a family coaster, but a toddler coaster. :snore:

I've got a bad feeling about this....

I don't. I imagine that the Mine Train footprint will also take up quite a bit of the area currently between the big hole in the ground and Pooh.

I'm not sure what you were looking at, but the two holes are for the Seven Dwarf's Mine Train - it looks to be a pretty good size:

when you see the whole expansion area compared to the rest of the mk, yea the expansion looks big, but its only 2 more rides, 3 if you count the 2nd dumbo, which I dont. I like that they are adding to the park, but I wish there were more rides. In this expansion area they could have easily added the pinocchio ride and alice in wonderland ride and still have kept tlm , be our guest restaurant and mine seven dwarves mine train

I understand that Disney and Fantasyland started with these types of classic dark rides, but considering everyone complains when we take a step backwards, I highly doubt we would see a C-Ticket attraction of the "quality" of Pinocchio ever built as a new attraction. Having said that, as part of an expansion of this size it would be a much easier sell because it wouldn't be anchoring it.

I do expect that long term the Snow White's Scary Adventures Building will become a ride - that has always been the belief.

I was told by an Imagineer at D23 that they will be plussing the existing Dumbo before installing it, and others have mentioned that we will be flying over water.

Am I the only one who thinks they should get rid of the castle wall above Pooh and retheme it to a cottage or somehing forest-y?

Actually, the hole near BatB is going to be for a water feature, not part of the Mine Train. In some of the pictures you can see the start of the foundations in the hole for the second bridge that will be in that area.

There is supposed to eventually be a third tent at the back of the area that will contain "Pete's Silly Sideshow", although it's still not clear exactly what that will be.

Are you sure? Based on the concept art it looks like it will be both. Part water feature and part Mine Train. They are going to build another bridge going towards Mermaid, but right next to the bridge it looks like the two turns on the left side of Mine Train will be located. I know concept art isn't very accurate, but still, it seems like an awfully big hole just to be a water feature.

Either way, it will still be a decent size - not Thunder Mountain size, but still - decent.

I am pretty sure. If you look at this picture, at the right side of the hole are two rectangular areas (one to the front and one to the back) that are probably foundations for the bridge. This also matches up with the location of the second bridge in the concept art. That bridge will pretty much cover the rest of that hole.

Ya, I think your right. I can't imagine how they would have Beast open being that close to the Mine Train construction. The only thing throwing me off is the flat surface area in between the two. It looks like the entrance to the Mine Train.

Just Like Dumbo in DLP??
Besides WDW all the Dumbos have water directly under them, which is what I think they are going to do here. See attached DL picture of water feature and mechanism.

DLP's Dumbo and queue are raised with a waterfall coming outward from under the queue for additional "dang that looks good".
DLP%252520Fantasyland%252520-%252520Dumbo%25252001.jpg

Mine Coaster:
Looking at the Mine Coaster foundations and retaining walls as finished sides of the hole. I would guess there is still a whole-lotta digging in the Pooh and Old Dumbo direction, left to do. This is gonna be pretty big.

The model and art don't show a path there, so my assumption is that the flat area between the two is just there for construction purposes and will eventually disappear.

agreed. unless plans have changed, then the path between the two holes is temporary for construction. besides the concept art you can also see it on the model in the great pics below

The hole I see in the pics looks to be bigger than the building for The Little Mermaid
