Great photos! Nice to have another eye in the sky! Looks like they have started the foundations for the second bridge in the BatB area:

You can also clearly see the outline of where the Mine Train ride will be.

Great pictures! It's quite impressive to see how much of the park this construction area currently takes up.

It makes you wonder how they will get through the very busy Christmas weeks when so much of the previously established park is currently off limits.

I've been wondering that myself. I expected MK to start phased closing on July 4th, but it never was reported that it did that day. I thought that was suprising.

Here's a few more random pics I took today. Also a couple shots of Kilimanjaro Safaris. I especially like the backside of Everest pic. Thanks to my flight instructor Doug Diersing for giving me these great angles out of the plane to get pictures.

Great pictures! I really like this one, it shows how huge this expansion is when you compare it to the current lands in the park.

Great pics.

Though a side note to the person whose site that it, the pics labeled "All Stars" are the under-construction Art of Animation buildings, not one of the All-Stars...

Thank you for the pictures! I love this sort of stuff!

Still a lot of work to do, but does anyone else think the footprint for the mine train is awfully small.
Tiny. Much smaller than I thought. Looks like it's not even going to be a family coaster, but a toddler coaster. :snore:

I've got a bad feeling about this....

I don't. I imagine that the Mine Train footprint will also take up quite a bit of the area currently between the big hole in the ground and Pooh.

Is that the train station in the back? That large building?? What is that supposed to be themed as? And why such a large building? :sohappy::sohappy:

You can see the station best on the right side of this photo. There seems to be three parts to the building, the loading area along the track, a structure designed to look like a railroad "round house" in front of that, and a smaller structure next to both of these. There is a discussion in this thread about the themeing of the station.

when you see the whole expansion area compared to the rest of the mk, yea the expansion looks big, but its only 2 more rides, 3 if you count the 2nd dumbo, which I dont. I like that they are adding to the park, but I wish there were more rides. In this expansion area they could have easily added the pinocchio ride and alice in wonderland ride and still have kept tlm , be our guest restaurant and mine seven dwarves mine train

Yes, I have been wondering the same since I saw the model from D23. This is the mystery element nobody (and I mean nobody) is talking about. It could be anything but it is consistent with some ideas I have that I think are possible. The station is to open in early 2012 so we should know soon. Unlimited potential with this for backstory and guest immersion.

It appears the entire area will be part of the new dwarf mountain. I am not seeing what everyone is claiming is small about this section. It is a MASSIVE footprint.

And you can easily see how they can (and apparently will) open up BatB and Mermaid while still being able to work on the mine train section. I know some people have voiced concern about it.

Thanks for the thread link. I had no idea it was started. That station looks insane. I may be more excited about seeing it than the entire Dumbo's Circus area.

One other thing. Looking at the photos, it looks like the new Dumbo ride that they have installed is made different than the old one. Is everyone absolutely sure they are just moving the old one over? I wouldn't think that they would want the two sitting side by side to look that different.

Yes I wish they added another ride or two and would have loved to have Pinocchio dark ride. But I think them adding a second Dumbo is a great decision.
