New Enhancements, Dining Options Coming to Disney’s BoardWalk

I love a good New York or good NJ Deli... Not that it is something I think about while on vacation though. I would have rather had a sausage sandwich and cheesesteak place with a bunch of nice outdoor seating... that would fit the Jersey Shore Boardwalk theme...and would be great for late night eats after EPCOT... Just sayin'

As a former New Yorker, who lived 50 years on Staten Island, worked in Brooklyn for 36 years, and resided in New Jersey for the past 7 years - the idea of a deli (particularly while I'm on vacation) brings out zero interest in me.
Deli's have always been kind of gross to me.
I suppose people who are less familiar with them may find the idea more novel.

I'm not sure anyone in the country is unfamiliar with delis -- at least anyone that lives in a moderately sized city. I've lived in the southeast my whole life and everywhere I've ever lived has had at least one.

Regardless, having a deli in an area themed to a northeastern early 20th century boardwalk makes sense.

Also having a venue that can serve food all day long makes more money.

Yes.

So I'm trying hard, but I really see not much difference (besides some minor appearance changes) between the new deli and the old bakery.

They changed some sandwiches and added a pickle. 😂

Agreed. Seems they just made some menu changes and changed the sign.
What I can't believe is that y'all seem to have expected something else.

I thought they closed when they ran out of the morning supply?

Might be misremembering.

I mean, Disney closes rides for 6 months when they need to add new paint. What were you expecting for a restaurant that closed for like 3 weeks? Honestly, it feels a bit like the new bakery at ESPN made a condition they can be the only place called "Bakery" on the Boardwalk, so Disney just changed the name of the place to appease them.

I didn't expect anything else. Other people seemed to think (or hope?) it was going to be a bigger change, though.

I had the same thought. They just changed the name because of that place going in.
