I think the biggest issue for cake Bake Shop, beyond the pricing, is during the daytime. Despite its location by EPCOT, it has been proven by every other restaurant that has tried to make it on the BoardWalk, that most EPCOT guests are not willing to leave the park to go there.
I think this place could **maybe** have survived at Disney Springs, with the menu items at a lower price point. But yeah, at the Boardwalk? It’s doomed. They could slash prices and it wouldn’t matter at this point.

Disney is guilty of a lot of price-gouging, but they’re not even the most expensive theme park for certain types of food. In my experience a burger and fries at Sea World is going to cost more than one at Cosmic Rays.
and at sea world you have to pay for a shopping bag, and they don't accept cash which is just wrong on so many levels when every other business/themepark/entertainment venue does.

Even aside from the ridiculous prices, there are some infrastructural and transportational issues in terms of getting to this place. It’s a pain to get to a Boardwalk /Beach Club restaurant when you have a reservation. As far as prices go, even much more modestly priced TSRs are hurting now, in and out of the parks.

I’m taking the under for the SWGS time frame.

I agree as well. Unfortunately, it's becoming the new norm. All Six Flags and Cedar Fair parks are cashless, and have been for years now. I went to 4 different stadiums for sporting events and 2 concert amphitheaters, and yet again, all cashless. I personally HATE this trend.

Well... That is it...no matter what they charge, people will buy it at WDW... So I guess they will now feel emboldened to continue to drive the prices of everything up even higher... As long as people clamor for the product despite the cost, they will continue the upward climb in cost to enjoy it... I guess that bucket didn't tip yet.
And if the numbers of people are supposedly down, why is the reservation system even in place?

The opening month is not the question, the question is what does it look like in 4 months. I think the Starcruiser comparisson makes sense in that respect. It's definitely possible it does well, but I can say from my small group of people I know that go to Disney, none have even a curiousity desire to eat here.

Don't you realize that if you have to pay for a shopping bag you are saving the environment? The merchandise that you put in the shopping bag doesn't have any negative effect even if it is plastic crap made in China.
