NEW Enhancement to Disney's Resort Airline Check-In Service

Hey Blizz, I knew that Mears was still running a towncar type of service to their parks. I was not aware if the shuttle vans were still running as why would people pay to rent a van service if they could go on a bus with the DME program for free (temporarily at least!) You are absolutely correct on the DME configuration of Mears handling the physical driving end of things, including insurance from what I was told. I had posted on another thread regarding the wait time of 1:45pm from the moment I stepped off the plane and into the far terminals through the monorail into the main terminal, down to the DME desk, through check in, boarding, the ride itself, stops at two other resorts prior to mine and I was still walking off the bus by 3 pm at my resort!!! This blew away ANYTHING I had ever done via Mears prior in terms of time. Other than some stupid remarks by a driver on the way back to the airport, I had no issue with DME and in fact found it to be far superior to Mears in terms of timing both coming onto the property and leaving!!! I have had a few issues with Mears regarding that and had a REALLY bad experience right before DME took over, so I for one am thrilled with the change. Enjoy the free ride and your trip. Belle

Yeah, on All Ears I was reading about some horrible wait times, so I have been crossing my fingers and hoping its nothing worse then the normal Mears wait.

Hey Blizz, I specifically did the DME gig in May as I wasnt really running under any time constraints so it didnt matter when I got to the hotel ( within reason of course, more than 3 hours is unacceptable in any situation) As I said I had a great experience and I found more than a few people have been having some very positive experiences. I get down to disney more than most people I know and previously have ALWAYS used Mears as for me by myself they were all I needed. They were economical and they served the purpose. I have found that DME Is better as the time it took to get to or from the resorts are less with DME and it is free. I am gonna go hunt down the thread where people have been discussing their DME experiences

Humm... sounds like its going a lot smoother.

Well that puts my mind at ease. Now only if they had a Southwest check-in service... lol. I am sure that will be on it's way soon.

Ditto on Southwest...I wish they would get onboard, sooner than later as were planning a Nov. trip and will most likely be flying Southwest.
