Taken from a WDW email:
IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth has a new holiday finale featuring "Let There Be Peace On Earth."

Anyone know anything about this?

Hmm...interesting...they haven't done anything like this before have they??

Not since the original Illuminations, which had an entire holiday version for a few years.

My guess is that they are removing "We Go On" and replacing it with "Let there be Peace on Earth" for the holidays.

Could someone please tape it and post it somewhere (eg: Disney-central)

The show is probably losing popularity at this point, and with the reduction in fireworks...I guess they are using this to keep people in the park later as opposed to them going to see the shows at other parks.

this is just for the holidays so I highly doubt it has anything to do with that. Epcot is very popular during the Christmas season with Candlelight and all of the Christmas traditions.

There is no reduction in fireworks. Some shells have been changed over the years, however it is still the same show it was 5 years ago.

Ok....I found out some more information.

The show will start the day after Thanksgiving and will run about 4 minutes. The show will use a significant amount of shells....around 800 or so.
It is the finale from the old Holiday Illuminations show that ran in the early-mid 90's, and Walter Cronkite will narrate.

Sounds great, doesn't it? :sohappy:

OOps my bad. The item I was thinking of is not the same as this and will only occur during the actual holiday week. More news to come.

That sounds like it's going to be awesome. Luckily, I'll be there for it and I'll make sure to tape it. I'm sad to hear that it's replacing "We Go On" for this timeframe though as it is one of my favorite Disney theme park songs. Why not add it in before or after that song?

I'll wait and decide whether or not I like it once I see it.

Where did the idea that it's replacing We Go On come from? The Mickey Monitor said that it would be a holiday tag that would play at the end of the show. I took this to mean that it would be like the July 4th and New Years Eve tags. It didn't say anything about replacing the current ending.
