New Disneyland Big Thunder effects will they come to WDW?

Haven't looked over there, but I think the comment above answered. ;)
No quite. I'll quote them.
Meanwhile, over in DCA, Soarin’ Over California was supposed to have been closed by now for a two month long refurbishment to transition to the new HD digital projection format to replace the original film projectors. Instead, the ride just finished a staggered refurbishment where each theater was closed for a week at a time for basic mechanical work on the flying carriages. The real Soarin’ project is purely a technical show upgrade, and it’s largely budgeted by the Shanghai Disneyland project and the twin-theater Soarin’ attraction being built in that park currently. But in January the long Soarin’ refurbishment at DCA was abruptly cancelled due to problems WDI has been having with the cutting-edge 4K HD projectors slated for this project in both Anaheim and Shanghai. It seems the new 4K projectors are just too cutting-edge for 2014, but could realistically arrive by 2015.

There is a very unfortunate tale behind the scenes here involving the company supplying the 4K projectors and miscommunication between WDI and the contractors. Tempers are flaring all over the place on this one. Because it’s so messy and lawyers on both sides are now involved, we won’t get into the details here. But just know that the project is still moving forward for both parks, although the timeline for Anaheim to get the HD upgrade now looks like it’s going to align with the installation of the projectors in the Shanghai facility in 2015. While the theater upgrades are delayed now, the flyover of the Anaheim parks next week is still on as helicopters are set to buzz both parks with HD cameras on March 12th. We’d told you of that March 12th date last year as WDI had to get permits and clearances settled far in advance, and the problems with the attraction projectors itself won’t slow that down. Don’t bother waving to the camera however, as Disneyland’s Security team is going to ensure that the late night flight path over the parks is clear of looky-loos.
Naturally I have some questions.
4K projectors are not cutting edge; most theaters have them when they transitioned from film to digital in the past couple of years, so are they referring to something else?
Did they mean to refer to IMAX's 8K laser projectors which won't be available until 2015?
Is there really behind the scenes drama or are they making stuff up?

I haven't gone back and read previous posts so I may have just missed it.... but what does this mean (if anything) for EPCOT's version? That NEEDS a change

They could use an array of projectors like Universal did for The Simpsons Ride. Each theater has four 4K projectors that operate in sync with each other to create the one image.

Team Disney Orlando. Different management.
LOL it would help if I knew what TDO meant lol

So WDW and DL fall under different buckets within Disney? ? You would think that they would have a president or VP in charge or parks and that he or she would drive the corporate strategy down to the two parks and not let them run loose.

You'd think wouldn't you?

TDO is Olrlando. Local management at DL is Team Disney Anaheim.

They used to be more independent because they're different. Thanks to the DisneyParks and One Disney initiatives the two have been brought closer together. Organizationally, both are under Meg Crofton, President, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Operations, US and France.

Sounds like political issues...whoever is in charge of TDO is disconnected politically from the higher ups and the TDA guys are getting some backing up high...
They all have the same management at a high level but are run like separate, smaller companies at the resort level.

Yep, Soarin' DCA was built with a mist system that was supposed to go during lift and landing. I haven't noticed whether it was working in a while. Actually forgot about it.

Fascinating! I road Soarin' for the first time in January, 2001 during the Annual Passholder Previews a few weeks before the park officially opened, and there wasn't any mist then. I also road Soarin' multiple times in the winter and spring of '01 after DCA had opened and the park was empty on most days. I never saw the mist effect working, nor have I ever heard of it until now.

I wonder if the mechanisms are still there? I'm heading to Disneyland/DCA this weekend to ride Big Thunder for AP Previews, so I will also ride Soarin' and go look over the edge of the theater to see if any nozzles or piping is still there.

They all answer to the same bosses in Burbank. But it's apparent that TDA knows how to spend their resources better, or at least they spend their resources on their theme park rides more often than TDO does.

Most of this I can't answer. Some of it is complete horse... And a little bit of it is accurate.

The system should still be there - it's built into the carriages, coming from the wing above the seats.
