Please educate yourself. You are 100% incorrect. What law is this… The one that they created… That’s great. Maybe they’ll give you a cupcake. Enjoy. I’m done with this.

Don't bother with the IBCCES, they won't take it. Just ask the cast member at the front what the process is if you need the line, or indicate that you have a medical reason that makes the current length of wait a problem and ask how they can help you. Focus on your needs, and how that impacts your ability to be in a line - not a diagnosis. That’s exactly what I plan on doing because this is a condition that I can’t deal with. I told them I would be happy to stand out in front of the line as long as a cast member can assist me, but like I said, even when I had DAS a cast, member could not assist me besides letting me go through, the lightning lane, which was very appreciated, but…… They don’t take documents for a reason and that’s just to deny you… I have tons of documentation and it is what it is. I’ll see if the cast members can help me if they can’t best believe I will be complaining about it.
You won’t stop…… I pray you never have a disability like mine……Please educate yourself. You are 100% incorrect.
You are 110% correct let’s just keep this Magical… And the words of Jackie Moon… Everybody love everybodyCan everyone just be a little kinder? What’s gotten into people today?
I'm tired of people thinking they are entitled to special treatment and threatening to complain when they don't get it, even though they have zero understanding of what they are complaining about. Can everyone just be a little kinder? What’s gotten into people today?
You sound like one miserable person… I’m done with you…. You have absolutely no idea, but I wish you well in life… Take care… And always stay extra Magical…I'm tired of people thinking they are entitled to special treatment and threatening to complain when they don't get it, even though they have zero understanding of what they are complaining about.
You might want to try the offered accommodation before passing judgment on it. Many who were initially skeptical have found that it works fine. It may not be your preferred accommodation, but it is what Disney now offers for the vast majority of disabilities. If it doesn’t work for you then, as mentioned, you can always purchase, LLSP, LLMP, and/or LLPP.The new DAS system is completely ridiculous…… It’s funny how they won’t let you give any documents… They never have before, but since it’s become so strict, you would think that now they’re checking peoples credentials to see if they’re not lying…… Instead they hire these people who have absolutely no idea how to diagnose any type of this order… And they just tell you no you don’t qualify… I have extreme anxiety and claustrophobia… I have documentation of I take medication and everything else… This uneducated woman who spoke with me told me that I just have to talk to a Disney cast member at the front of the line to make sure that I can come out and then go back into the line … And I said what if that cast member cannot assist me because even when I was using DAS for the last four years I still had a few complications so now that I’m not even using it how can I be assured that I’d be able to ask to leave the line when I need to She had no answer for that. This is completely ridiculous… This will probably be my last trip to Disney World.
Those people on the phone don’t need to diagnose anything. The new DAS system is completely ridiculous…… It’s funny how they won’t let you give any documents… They never have before, but since it’s become so strict, you would think that now they’re checking peoples credentials to see if they’re not lying…… Instead they hire these people who have absolutely no idea how to diagnose any type of this order… And they just tell you no you don’t qualify… I have extreme anxiety and claustrophobia… I have documentation of I take medication and everything else… This uneducated woman who spoke with me told me that I just have to talk to a Disney cast member at the front of the line to make sure that I can come out and then go back into the line … And I said what if that cast member cannot assist me because even when I was using DAS for the last four years I still had a few complications so now that I’m not even using it how can I be assured that I’d be able to ask to leave the line when I need to She had no answer for that. This is not true. I’m sorry you are misinformed. But there is no such thing as “you are supposed to have access to a return that is right at the entrance of the line.” For the majority of attractions the last place that you can rejoin your party is that attractions merge area.See that’s where you’re wrong, which is exactly what an uneducated person about the system would say… You are supposed to have access to a return that is right at the entrance of the line. A lot of cast members don’t know about this because the cast members nowadays don’t care please be more informed before you make a statement
Personally, I have to take Xanax to fly and be a little “out of it”. This is something I don’t want to do (and shouldn’t) daily while at Disney. I do take it with me in case of an emergency, but while at Disney I try to avoid areas that put me into a panic (like Main Street during fireworks). I’m also fine paying for access to shorter lines. While we have had DAS on the past, it was for my son, not for me, so I supplemented with G+ just to make things easier.I am curious, for people where the issue is just waiting in line, whether its young children, or claustrophobia, or something else how you handle actually getting to the park?
Assuming most people that are going to WDW do NOT live withing an hour or 2 of Orlando, means that you are going to be forced to travel within a confined space, plane or car seat, for far longer than the length of time you would be expected to be waiting in a line. We found in the past when our kids were in the range being talked about here, that the same techniques we used for flights and long drives, could equally be applied to time in a stroller, line time. Some of the new features of the Disney aps for kids i thought really helped with this.
Driving in your own car is not claustrophobic because you are in control and know that you can stop and get out whenever you want. I don't have that kind of claustrophobia, mine is more being held down, but it is not to the level of it affecting me at the parks. But I can comprehend how others can feel. It is more about ease of movement for many. Even on an airplane, you are in your seat and can move on your own. People are in their own space and not in your space. In the queues, you can't control how close others get to you and we all know that many people like to get right up on you as if that is going to get them on the ride faster.I am curious, for people where the issue is just waiting in line, whether its young children, or claustrophobia, or something else how you handle actually getting to the park?

Dd doesn't really waited much in lines at the airport. DH has pre check, he takes her with him (I go through regular security). She qualifies for medical pre board, so we don't wait in the line to board. Even with that, the traveling itself still can be very stressful for us - but it's worth it to see the joy she has when she's at Disney. We do what we can to minimize the things that will cause the most issues - just like we do at Disney by using the DAS.I am curious, for people where the issue is just waiting in line, whether its young children, or claustrophobia, or something else how you handle actually getting to the park?

100%. All 3 of us in my party have some sort of medical issue. We usually go during less busy times, do early entry and leave around lunch, then go back after dinner. No way could we do open to close, no one would make it . That’s usually why we do longer trips because we need to visit the parks in short spurts each day. Usually have a lot of down time swimming, eating dinner, exploring, etc.Driving in your own car is not claustrophobic because you are in control and know that you can stop and get out whenever you want. I don't have that kind of claustrophobia, mine is more being held down, but it is not to the level of it affecting me at the parks. But I can comprehend how others can feel. Couple that with how narrow the queues are and there not being a good way to get out if needed, other than to squeeze by others. It is a lot more nuanced than many think. And I for one, avoid busy times. I get to the parks late and leave early. Many people will skip rides if they are too busy and go onto something else.
I think that it is important to understand that people with medical issues/disabilities do not tour like the average person. I know that many seem to think that, but it is not reality. Most have shorter days and end up riding less, even when they had DAS. I am not talking about those who faked a disability, but those who truly have issues.
Pre-check is seriously the best! I’m totally fine paying for that every 5yrs. Makes air travel much less stressful for meDd doesn't really waited much in lines at the airport. The alternative would be never leaving home because it's stressful to go places - and that's just not something I'm going to do to her.
I know there were a lot of high tensions in this thread, but just an FYI these are probably the accommodations you may get offered at each ride:The new DAS system is completely ridiculous…… It’s funny how they won’t let you give any documents… They never have before, but since it’s become so strict, you would think that now they’re checking peoples credentials to see if they’re not lying…… Instead they hire these people who have absolutely no idea how to diagnose any type of this order… And they just tell you no you don’t qualify… I have extreme anxiety and claustrophobia… I have documentation of I take medication and everything else… This uneducated woman who spoke with me told me that I just have to talk to a Disney cast member at the front of the line to make sure that I can come out and then go back into the line … And I said what if that cast member cannot assist me because even when I was using DAS for the last four years I still had a few complications so now that I’m not even using it how can I be assured that I’d be able to ask to leave the line when I need to She had no answer for that. It is important to note you will have no control what is offered to you from this list, so prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Also never take it out on the CM at the front of the line.I think we got way off topic and I feel for you with this post as it is a tough situation. I don't have the answer, but what I do know is that they will tell you to go to the attraction entrance, explain your situation, and the CM there should help you. I'm guessing one of the following 4 things will happen at each attraction
Personally, I hope you get 3 or 4 for most attractions, but I expect 1 and 2 will be more common for you. I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I would consider buying LLMP/LLSP on some of the days.
- Told to stand in standby and leave the line if needed (I know this isn't very practical for you, but this might be what you are told)
- Your partner may be asked to stand in the standby line alone and if you need assistance, you can contact them to leave the line. Then both you and your partner enter the LL once done. If you do not need assistance, you will meet them at the LL merge (you going through the LL)
- You and your partner may get a LL return time similar to a 1 time use DAS (this is rare)
- You and your partner may get sent immediately through the LL with no delay (seems like this happens based on how backed up the LL is)
EDIT: I should also mention, I still think you should apply for DAS once you are able to. I do not think you will get it, but with the triple issue of restroom problems, being in an ECV, and occasionally needing assistance with the restroom, maybe you will get it.
I’ve seen very rude and hostile CM’s over the years - maybe you should remind them not to take out their bad day on the guests? Also never take it out on the CM at the front of the line.
Their bad days are almost always because of "guests".I’ve seen very rude and hostile CM’s over the years - maybe you should remind them not to take out their bad day on the guests?
