Please do a search before writing up a thread. Thanks...

Check the bottom of this page for more threads disscussing this topic.

Of course, maybe Izzzy did in fact do a search and nothing came of it. Or possibly the search yielded nothing but old threads. Geez, it's a message board forum and it was a very legitimate inquiry, particularly for someone so new to the boards.

No apology to the Buckeye necessary, Izz. Welcome to the boards.

To answer your question, I haven't seen any definitive or recent rumor regarding the addition of a new country to World Showcase. Those rumors tend to float around every few months.

Rumours have been surfacing about a new pavilion since 1982.... and continue to do so.

In short; many additions have been designed, proposed, rumoured, but nothing more.

I'm so glad for people on the board like Mr. Pride over there. We really need someone to police the boards and keep them safe from re-posts and most importantly make people feel bad for posting on a site designed to be fun.

From all of us, Mr. Pride, we offer a heartfelt thank you.

Nice...

Good to see that Buckeye U is teaching manners.

Corrus, is this new country Japan? I have been deeply saddened when they replaced Japan with the lesser-known Asian country of Tarp-pei. It's just not the same. Maybe our beloved Land of the Rising Sun will be returning! :p

And welcome to the boards izzy!

Simple answer: No there are no new countries planned at this time. There was one in potential talks but fell through a few years ago.

Oh yeah? I've heard they are talking about Switzerland, and Equatorial Africa, and Russia, and even adding a Mt. Fuji rollercoaster to Japan...

(in best Borat voice)...Not!

Truthfully, for the simple investment of opening a Tim Horton's at the Canada pavillion, they'd double traffic in World Showcase.

Something like that would work Canada & Italy are the only country without a quick-service stall. Given it's "early" location, Canadian Krispy Kreme would fit in well. :animwink:

(it's more than just rumours and speculation, it also has to do with the economy of the country involved)
While a country from Africa could be cool, the country also has to be able to afford it.
