If Disney were to put Marvel characters in their parks then they would be both the licensor and licensee.

Can the owner be the licensee as well? They aren't licensing the characters to anyone.

If the different divisions were run as separate businesses, then yes; but they aren't.

WDW is not a licensee of Mickey and Minnie, they own them – same with Marvel. They may not have the theme park rights to the Avengers characters, but they still own them.

They cannot promote the Avengers in any of the theme parks. If the buses go to the theme parks, then they cannot contain ads for the movie.

The conversation at hand is whether or not they could use the Marvel name in promoting the Guardians of the Galaxy characters.

The MK monorails do not run inside the theme parks so they can be used for any Marvel advertising. The Epcot loop does go inside Epcot and thus the Marvel monorails don't run on that track.

True, but they did promote Iron Man 3 in DTD with the Iron Patriot Armor display at Planet Hollywood. They find loopholes where they can.
