Hello my friends.

Im just wondering what kind of celebration we can expect for the new coming year. Seem's like ever since I have been going to WDW, there has been a celebration (25 yr celebration, 2000 Millennium celebration, the 100 yr celebration). What do you all think the new celebration will be, or if there will be one.??? I havent heard a thing. Id love to hear your thoughts. THANK YOU.!! BUDAHMAN : :D

LOL- It DOES seem like they have been doing an awful lot of celebrating lately. But I don't think there is anything planned for next year. Anybody know differently?

nothing is planned for next year. The Millenium Celebration/100 YoM proximity was merely a fluke. Next year will be a normal year

yup... and it will be held at Disneyland as well, where WDW won't be affected.

Our next trip is Feb 28, 2002 until March 7. Right when 100 YoM ends. Should be interesting to see what it is like. I am hoping for low crowds. We have to go then because it is when my hubby's work has spring break.

The people at Disney are marketing geniuses! I'm sure there will be some kind of celebration in the near future. I wonder what landmark they will "add magic to."

I, for one, am glad the celebrations are taking a break. They'll seem more special when they are spread out by at least a few years, and not going on constantly like they have been the last 3-4 years.

How was it a fluke? Not trying to be rude, I think I just misunderstood your quote.

Possibly but Disney could also make it a World Wide celebration. Afterall, Disneyland was the park that gave birth to the concept of a "Themepark" vs. just an amusement park.

There is another thread somewhere on this board with the same topic, and I remember reading on it that Disney might do a celebration honoring Epcots upcoming birthday (20th?). But I don't know, because Epcot was the host for the 2000 Celebration. The Animal Kingdom needs a celebration now. (Would they even be able to do that because of all the animals?)

I like the celebrations but i don't think it's nneded all the time it doesn't make them seem like celebrations just a continuation of the one before.

this is the only time that 2 property-wide celebrations have been held within a year of each other

I must say that I am the bigger fan of WDW than my wife. She enjoys it alot there, but I LOVE it. I guess if there is not any Celebrations planned I will need to tell her something else to get her to go again. Maybe I can tell her a made up Celebrtion.?? :goodnevil
I love the celebrations and will miss them if there are none for awhile.

I agree with the majority on this one - Celebrations don't seem nearly as special when Disney has them all the time.

mktiggerman, I am SOOOO loving your new avatar!!!

I must learn to make avatars so I can copy the idea myself! :animwink:
